Mox felt being dragged. He tried to look around, but beside a long and dark corridor he couldn’t see anything special. Small torches were set up here and there, bringing some light into the darkness.

After a few minutes, that felt like years to Mox they reached a big metal door. Inside, sitting a table and looking through some papers, there was captain Neihart. He was wearing black clothes, moving his right hand through his hair from time to time. One could wonder how he managed to read in that small room, lightened only by the dim light of a small candle.

“Captain, the vigilante leader woke up. We got him here!” the lieutenant stood in the doorway, not daring to enter without permission.

“Oh, put him on the chair!” the captain said, not getting his head out of his papers. “You can go now” he told the handlers, making a dismissive gesture with his hands.

“Sir, I think you should have someone in the room. He is dangerous!” the lieutenant protested the dismissal. “He bite the guard’s ear off and hit another one” he finished making a head gesture toward the injured handler.

“That’s because they are stupid. Leave the room now!” the captain howled at them.

The trio left the room immediately, but the lieutenant remained as guard around the door. The reputation of this captain was famous around the Silver Guard. He was a military genius, proved by his rank at such an early age, but he had a bad temper. In the Silver Guard, even though your name is Neihart, you didn’t get any slack, because if you got there, you weren’t part of the main family.

In the case of this captain, his father was Neihart, but his mother was a prostitute and he was born by mistake. This is why he joined the Silver Guard. He was seen as a black sheep by the rest of the family. But he proved to be a genius and a talented man and thus he became captain before he reached the age of 30.

“My names is James Neihart” the captain went in front of Mox, looking him in the eye. He took out a small box with cigars and lighted one. He took a big breath, keeping the smoke in and then blew it all in the face of Mox. “Who are you, Mister Mox Smith? Who you really are?”

“I’m just a travelling painter” Mox coughed the words because of the thick smoke that the captain blew in his face.

“Just a travelling painter” James repeated word by word what Mox just said. “Just a travelling painter… Ha,ha, ha”
Smack!, a heave slap landed on Mox face, making his head turn. He could hear his ears ringing because of this.

“Don’t lie to me. I will ask you again. Who are you? What is your purpose here? I expect the truth this time."

“I’m just a travelling painter. I came here to pain…”

Another slap landed on Mox face.

“I came here to paint, cough, cough” Mox grinned toward James. “Where are your manners, Silver Guard captain James Neihart? Don’t they teach them at the Silver Guard academy?” Mox found the strength to laugh.

“You, you are funny” James laughed as well, moving again his hands through his hair.

And then another hit landed on Mox. This time it was a fist to the gut. Painful as hell.

“You know” James said, looking at the face of Mox, contorted by pain “I’m one bad motherfucker. You and your damned clique think you’re tough. This is only the beginning. You will tell me what I need. I have many ways to make you talk. And I don't have the time to work with velvet gloves.” and then he hit him again.

“Lieutenant!” he looked toward the door and yelled. He knew that he will be beside the door.

“Yes, captain!” the lieutenant entered immediately.

“Send him to the Butcher. Tell him to work him good, but to keep him alive”

James returned to the desk, looking again through the papers.
