The Adventures of Mister Mox - Part 35

“What traitor?” Mox shouted, but when he opened his eyes,he didn’t recognize the scenery.

Everything was dark. A small ray of light entered in the room through a tiny window. Mox looked at his hands, cuffed with big chains and tied to the floor. He moved his head, now accustomed a little bit with the dark, to survey the room. A groan was heard from a corner of the room.

“Mox, you woke up?” a voice barely recognizable was heard.

“Who’s there? Bass, is that you?” Mox tried to move toward the voice, but the chains didn’t give him too much room for movement.

“Yeah, that’s me! Dammit, everything hurts. These bastards know how to work a man." Bass cursed while trying to move his body. “How you holding up? I thought you died!” said Bass while massaging his jaw.

“How long I was out? The last thing I remember is that damned captain saying something about a traitor. Did someone betray us, Bass?” Mox asked with concern in his voice.

“You were out for a few days. I lost track of time in here. I don’t know how many days have passed since our capture. The traitors were Mike and his brother. They gave up the plan. I overhead them on the way back.” Bass replied with pain in his voice.

“No, not Mike and Alan. How the hell they managed to turn them?” the angered voice of Mox could be heard in the dark.

“I don’t know. I’ve been here the whole time. I don’t know anything about the rest of the guys either. But Mox...” Bass whispered “I was questioned about you and the painting you were looking for. Shhhh! Someone is coming!”

Bass retreated toward his corner, not daring to make a sound. The round and happy priest that Mox knew was gone. In his place was now a broken man. Mox gave a mental sigh. All of this happened because of him. He was blaming himself.

The door of the room opened with a creak.

“Hello priest!” a mocking voice was heard behind the door. “How are you today. Ready for your treat?” the voice followed with a sadistic laugh.

And soon sounds of wood hitting flesh was heard. Bass started to cry in agony.

“Stop it! Stop it!” Mox howled at the man that was beating Bass, trying to jump toward him, but his chains stopped him.

“Oh, the main character has awakened. The captain will be happy to see you.” the man said with a grin on his face, while kicking Bass in the gut. “Oi, come in here and take him away!”

Two men entered the room when they heard the order and grabbed Mox. The guard that kicked Bass approached them and unlocked the big chain grounded on the floor. Mox still had a another chain around his wrist and another one around his feet.

“Oohh, the captain was waiting for you to wake up. He, he, he. You’ll get your share now. The orders were not to touch you. You were lucky!” the man approached Mox while grinning, looking him in the eyes.

Little did he know what Mox had in mind.

With a swift move of the head, Mox hits one of his handlers in the nose, releasing one of his arms. He grabbed the man in front of him with the chain and started to strangle him. A rain of blows started to rain on his back from the remaining handler, but Mox didn’t care. He was already beaten up.

When he felt his power leaving him, he used his last bit of strength to bite the ear of the man in his hands. He bite so hard that the ear fell off.

“That’s for Bass, you sick motherfucker!” Mox said with his mouth full of blood, while spitting the piece of ear off on the floor.

Then he couldn’t stand anymore and collapsed. The floor felt nice. It was cold.

Attracted by the noise and mostly by the cries of the man without the ear, a Silver guard lieutenant arrived at the cell.

“What the hell is happening here?” he wanted to ask, but he could assess the situation by himself.

“Stop beating him!” he ordered to the men that were still hitting Mox. “Bring him to the captain!”

And then he left, followed by the two handlers, that were dragging Mox on the floor. One of them was trying to stop the blood from his nose. Mox hit broke it.

I had a lot of fun writing this chapter and I enjoyed doing it so. I've decided that once this arc is done, that I will publish the first volume of The Adventures of Mister Mox. It will take a couple of week until then, but I'm excited about this idea. I hope that you'll enjoy what I've prepared in the next chapters.
