Old Folks House Party!? 4/1/2018
I was writing a post previously about some of the misfortunes of the night that is new years but they are honestly funny you shouldn't be confused or too lost if you didn't read the previous post infact its more of a continuation but if you are interested here was the first part...

With the carrying of drinks on us we had no other option but to get a cab as using transport on new years night would mean some very long waiting times.
And as with most cabs they always think its funny to go around the longer way towards our destination.
Once we was there we struggled to find the house number.
Yes it seems even the cabbie dropped us at the wrong place... just outside the old folks home.. Yes thought it was abit of a odd strange place to have a house party.

Honestly the house number structure made no sense at all according to the map it was in the old folks home....
So a few text exchanges and a phone call we finally found the house.

DUDE: Hey man where are you?
ME: Outside your house
DUDE: I dont see you?
ME: Well the cab just dropped us outside your house
DUDE: Well I am standing outside my house....
Anyway once finally inside I saw old and new faces, I got introduced to everybody and the gang seemed like generally a good crowed.
While enjoying ourselves with music, drinks, food and sweets we tried to figure out where we was moving to next.

Like I said things didn't go according to plan I received a text from my buddy who was setting us up for a (New Years Theme) club but unfortunately he couldn't make it because he got very unwell.
With this I was annoyed that we didn't make it to the club but I am normally the type of guy who as learned not to let such things ruin my mood.
After a while we decided to just enjoy the house party and while it wasn't the best new years I have ever had it was still great to catch up with some old buddies.
Not only that but I discovered that one of my friend's who was mostly in the dumps for many years as almost changed hes life completely around.
Not only did he have a much higher paid job now, a house, lost a ton of weight but most pleasing was he found a lovely girlfriend.
There was the usual drunk dramas that went on during the night but nothing I haven't seen before, some were sad but mostly they were very very funny.
We waited till midnight and watched the countdown on TV

It started getting really late so my friends pushed me to say our goodbyes which I agreed too I honestly didn't want to spend the first day of the year messed up.
We said our goodbyes and I was actually surprised how late most of them stayed partying as I am normally one of the last to leave when it comes to parties but honestly I think for once we was one of the earliest to go home.
Anyway we left and some got into cabs while others walked each other home.
I made my own way home it was dark and absolutely freezing at first due to the cold wind, after walking a few home myself I borrowed a warm fleece and honestly it made the walk home so much nicer.
The wind at first was so horrid it just passed right through your clothing but luckily after a few corners the wind was non existent... how strange.. but suddenly the walk home was calming and peaceful and even a joy.
The moon shined so brightly that night hope others got to see it.

I also felt sorry for some of the people I saw walking they were infact making their way too work.
Those walking were the ones who wakeup REALLY really early for work they miss all morning chaos.
I just thought poor souls they couldn't even enjoy a new years night and they have to get up this early every morning in the freezing cold yikes.
Finally home I wished 2017 goodbye and hoped that 2018 wouldn't bring me too much tragedy.
That was part of my new years, how was yours?

Ah good old cab drivers always trying to take a longer way to get a bit extra out of you I bet cab fare was not cheap that night. Seem like your friend stay in a weird area if you got drop off at a old folks home lol I would be like I know I not seen him in a while but he can't age that bad haha. It a shame you didn't get to go to the club but good to hear you still had a good night
Dam its so annoying that they almost always do it, in new years night I guess it would be a little more pricey probably due more to the time it was then just the night of new years, I am not sure on price someone else paid for the cab which I still want to give money towards as they travelled from near the party location thinking it was also at the old house.
Haha maybe the cabbie knew it at been a while and took it literally

Yea true I did want to go to the club but had the feeling it would be a decent night at the house party smaller groups sometimes add to more interactions, what about yourself would you of rather gone to a club from yours?
Hmm I did have the option to go to a club with my cousin but I didn't really want to ditch my friends for it as it seem unfair it a shame as I heard it was a pretty good night at the club
Oh I see @hotmagoes I know what you mean there as been many times at new years when I was given a few options and I went to 3 places in one night to keep some people happy but it was indeed good fun, I think you made the right choice, well unless they arent good friends but was there alot of family in the club? Could you not have gone to both?
