Year 30XX

Several hundred years after the asteroid hit Earth and the demon beast first emerges, humanity had managed to fully recover from the destruction.

To protect themselves from the threat of the demon beast, and awaken more humans to become "blessed", the new world government implemented a large scale project they named "Sanctuary", named after the mysterious land where demon beast originated.

The purpose of the project is to explore the mysterious land, and harvest demon beast meat, parts, and of course their so called soul abilities.

At first the "blessed" who entered the sanctuary is had hard time exploring and many lost their lives in the process. But after years of constant struggles, they finally managed to conquer a tiny part of the Sanctuary. Not only that they also discovered a way to circumvent a law of the Sanctuary that forcibly eject anyone who stayed there for a few hours.

This is due to a mysterious mineral that if held or put on a person's body, prevents the law from acting up against that person. Thanks to this discovery that mankind was able to build bases inside the sanctuary. It's also thanks to this that no demon beast manages to enter Earth once again.

The resources inside the Sactuary possessed great allure for mankind, but danger is also abound. It's no secret that to explore such a place, lives and limbs are often lost. To solve this issue, the world government build schools, and institution to train future explorers. Fortunately, the meat from demon beast have great effect in allowing a person to awaken. The rarer and stronger the demon beast the more effective its meat.

One of such school is the 238th Blessed school in the state of Nirvan, and was known as the Tanhausser Academy. Tanhauser Academy is just a one of many schools located at City F, a third class city in Nirvan. Among the thousands of student in Tanhausser Academy is a young man of 16 named Dylan.

Dylan is an average looking young man that would easily get lost in the crowd. Meaning, he is not that eye catching. Coming from an ordinary family, Dylan had always wanted to enter the Sanctuary. Unfortunately, his talent is mediocre, and had barely awakened thanks to the effort and hardwork of his parents.

But due to his mediocre talent, he could only enter a third class school like the Tanhausser Academy. Nonetheless this is enough for Dylan. Because despite lacking talent, Dylan is a very determined individual, and the sheer effort he put on training is absurd. To the point that he only stop after collapsing from exhaustion.

Dylan knew that he could only be an ordinary soldier if he did not put on more effort to training. And he did not plan to become a cannon fodder once he graduate and enter the sanctuary. His parents did not birth him just so he would become demon beast feces.

Fortunately, his determination did not betray him as he for some unknown reason manages to awaken some sort of strange ability. And, this ability is currently staring at him with a stupid look!
