Robinson Crusoe Part-1, Part-2, Part-3, Part-4

Robinson noticed something new while going around the forest every day. He brought up young wild pigeon home which was discovered in the forest, and tried to make them domestic. But all pigeons flew away, when they became mature.

Around seven o’clock in the evening he had to stop his work as it grew dark and he didn’t have any candle as well. He had nothing to do after 7 pm. except sleeping. He then discovered that he really needed a candle. Whenever he slaughtered a goat, He collected the fat from its body and kept in a little mud dish. He then put a piece of rope into that fat and started to burn it whenever he needed. He now had a night lamp. Though it didn’t light brightly like a candle, it was sufficient to see in the dark.

Robinson then accidently cultivated some grain. How it occurred? He had discovered a little bag of grain in the ship. But the rats had eaten all the grain and left only the dry outer husks. He needed the bag, so he just brought the husks out of the bag and put into the ground.

He hadn’t remembered anything about the husks. One day, when rains came, he was surprised to find something green coming out from the ground. Robinson was thinking of what it could be? It was very strange for him, because grain was growing out of dry husks. It seemed as if God was providing him the grains as food. And tears of happiness were coming out from his both eyes.

He went around the Whole Island and look under each and every rock to find out more grains, but he discovered none. Lastly, he remembered that he had thrown some husks of the grain out in front of his house, and came to know what had happened. He had placed the husks over there, and it had germinated when the rains started.

Robinson carefully put aside half the ears of corn, and sowed them again. But he transplanted just before dry season had to come, and that’s why did not obtain a good harvest. As the corn was sowed at wrong time, all plants withered. The next year with greater care, he sowed the grains at right time. Soon the rains came and helped the plants grow, which provided a good yield.

After some years, he learnt farming very well. Many years later, he could start making his own bread, but before he had increased his crop of corn.
