SIN OF PRESUMPTION- A touching story of a man who misjudged and shot his faithful friend

Igor lost his beautiful wife Luda after she gave birth to their new baby Natasha a year ago. He lives alone with the baby who is now 1 year old in their homestead and his dog who he sees as his best friend.

The dog was so faithful and intelligent that he usually leaves it to watch over the little daughter who he loves so much and reminds him of his beautiful late wife. Whenever Igor returns, he always finds his little girl sound asleep with the dog watching over her.

One faithful day, something terrible happened. Igor left as usual to rush to the local market to get some much needed groceries for the house and left the child in the care of the dog. After some few hours he returned and found the whole place in a mess. The scene was really nasty as the little babies cot was destroyed, her cloths and nappies turn to pieces soaked in blood, with blood stains all over the room where he left the dog with his baby.  In great shock Igor began searching for his lovely baby fearing the worse and wailing at the same time. Out of nowhere, the dog appeared from under the table in the room covered with fresh blood and licking its mouth and body seemingly finishing a delicious meal. Igor suddenly remembered he had forgot to feed the dog before leaving as such the dog had considered his only lovely daughter a good meal.  

Sudden rage took over Igor, he went berserk and without much reasoning, rushed in and took his gun and shot the faithful dog at a close range on the head. He then continued hopelessly to look for his daughter,  if nothing else,  but to find her remains. Lo and behold, he beheld another scene! 

Close to the table, under the bed, was his dear daughter, who although laying naked was safe and at another end of the bed was the body of a dead huge fox torn to pieces in what appears to be a terrible fierce battle between it and his dead dog whom he just shot. Suddenly, the reality of what happened became clear to Igor who now understood what really happened when he was gone. His faithful dog of 5 yrs fought bravely to save his only child from a hungry wild animal. In his impatience and uncontrollable rage, he just murdered his best friend who has always been his companion especially during his time of grief and even during hunting trips. It was too late for Igor to make amends as the dog was dead! He just learnt his lesson in a very terrible way. ~End of story~ 

~Lesson~ 

This story implies to most of us. Most times, we rush in judging others wrongly and turn them to shreds through our actions and before we have time to evaluate the true positions of things we had used harsh words and deeds to hurt innocent people around us. 

This is called Sin of Presumption. Without taking time to find out the true positions of things, we rush and Presume things our own way.   With little patience, we can drastically minimize major lifelong mistakes. 

Therefore my dear Steemians, right now, who are you misjudging? Please do not rush and join others in condemning someone, be it at home, in school, work place, online etc. Some of us misjudge others due to their dressing, religion, nationality, tribe, country and generalize things...this is very bad.  Before you condemn the innocent, take some time and find out the whole truth, hear from the other party before rushing into conclusion and get to the truth of the situation and always be patient with others so you do not live to regret your actions. And if you had committed the Sin of Presumption, do not be too proud to make amends, start with the magic word “I am sorry”. For those of us who have been wrongly accused, always have a forgiven spirit as two wrongs will never make it right...
