Treasure Hunting for Gold in Target with Goldmatters - PART III

When Mrs. Goldmatters announced ANOTHER trip to Target was neccesary, I once again had to play it cool.

Mrs. Goldmatters: “ I know going to Target isn’t the most fun thing to do, but we need to pick up a few things.”

Me: “ BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRIIIIINGGGGG!!!”

Mrs. Goldmatters: “ Don’t they have those weird gold bars you like?”

Me: “Oh? What gold bars? I have no idea what you mean.”

Mrs. Goldmatters: “Get in the car.”

Me: (immediate compliance).

It was time to venture Target yet again! When I go to Target, the search for gold begins immediately:

After avoiding these creepy headless mannequins:

I continued the search.

Copper is often found in the same mineral deposit as gold, so I knew I was on the right track:

It seemed like I was getting closer:

Then I took a step backwards. Those familiar with the GLD understand that it is not actually backed by real gold:

As unlikely as it is, I literally heard this conversation between a mom and her son while at Target.... The kid stopped and pointed at this:

Kid: “Mom! Look! Solid gold!”

Mom: “ Ha! If it were real gold it wouldn’t be there.”

MOM WAS WRONG:

While focused on writing down the qoute from that conversation for this blog, in a stunning twist.....I LOST MRS. GOLDMATTERS!

She was nowhere to be found!

This was my chance! I made a break for it:

I knew just what I was after. I finally turned the corner to the correct aisle when....... HOSTILES! There were people already there staring at my gold! Panic started to set in:

I really worried they would buy up all the gold, but when I finally made it over all was well.

I finally found Mrs.Goldmatters again, and distracted her with some juggling while I stuffed the gold bars in the cart:

We got out of Target and hustled home, my loot ready for part II where I will mine this (hopefully) gold!
