FLASH FICTION: Diamond Rings

Torchlights beamed in the dark as thick and hefty clouds blinded the glory of the moon. The whole world was silent and still now, except for the three gentlemen who paraded a fresh graveyard.

The three gentlemen's mission was simple and straightforward - to exhume the corpse of Pa James, one of the wealthiest men that walked the city of Lagos, and harvest the diamond rings in his fingers. After all, of what use are diamond rings to the fingers of a dead man?

However, when the three gentlemen arrived the private graveyard where Pa James was buried, they found the shock of their lives. A cleverer gang had arrived the scene before them and had carted away all the diamond rings buried with Pa James.

The three gentlemen returned enraged, for there were no diamonds to quench their lusts for wealth and fame.
