Chapter 22.
INTERSTELLAR NEWS CHANNEL 9. NEWS FLASH.

Large earthquakes and magnetic fluctuations have been reported on Capital planet just before contact was lost. Pictures from a live stream from the Senate sub-committee on domestic robot rights clearly show what appears to be a large scale earthquake. All contact with our office on Capital planet has been lost and as yet security forces have not commented on what has occurred there. In more breaking news on the eve of Federation day a number of Federation Battle droids outside our studios seem to have malfunctioned and security forces are, as we speak, involved in a fire fight with them. Large explosions have been heard and a number of injured security staff were dragged into the lobby before lockdown procedures sealed our building. Unconfirmed reports from outside suggest a massacre of civilians by the heavily armoured battle droids that are still at large within the city. It appears we have a breach in our studios and the evacuation signal has sounded…. The battle droids are inside the studio, we are under attack.

The fleet under the command of Commander Kali had arrived just as the main Federation fleet had engaged. Jumping out of light speed at the edge of the system where the bounty hunters’ station was, situated she took a minute to take in the scene before her.
“This is Kali to fleet, we need to take out the battle cruisers before they can target the station. Killashandra, take your ships and hit the command vessels, the rest of you follow me. Alienbutt attack; run, hit and run,” she ordered, using the attack plan devised by Alienbutt and Grommit before the battle of Dagnabbit.
As Kali’s ships began their attack run, Cyborgpirate and his ships fell into formation with them. The surviving members of the Fo’c’sle squadron attacked as one. Thousands of droid fighters rushed out to intercept them as they approached their target. The forward guns of the Fo’c’sle fleet opened fire and the front ranks of the fighters disappeared in a ripple of explosions, but more followed and by sheer numbers they were soon engulfed by a wave of defending fighters. Still the droids depended on numbers more than their weapon strength to try and stop their advance towards the battle cruisers. Losses would be inevitable, but they quickly burst through the fighters and launched a wave of torpedoes at the battle cruisers before peeling off as the battle cruisers began to return fire. Kali ordered her ships to re-form and prepare for another attack. She was taking heavy losses, even though they were inflicting massive damage on the federation battle cruisers. The sheer numbers of enemy ships made the damage they were causing ineffective in the long term.
