German-Trail - Some views and feedback appreciated
Some words after one month German-Trail
Steemians - we are now active since over one month. Some words of clarification. First of all it is Fun to support mainly the German community. I want to avoid this post sounds just negative or considered a rant (that was before the current trail discussion).
The official curation account is designed to help finding and rewarding mainly great content related to Germany and / or in German language - relevant tags that should be included are either deutsch, deutschland, german or germany.
What is great content?
- a well written article in German language
- a well written article in English language with a link to Germany
- a post including great photography from Germany (post in any language allowed)
- a post including great music (audio or video) from or linked to Germany
Grammar or spelling is considered in the evaluation of posts that are voted or resteemed but based on the above are NOT necessarily the deciding factor.
About the Curator
The curator - @uwelang - of this trail is 100% backing up the concept of Steemtrail; the curator is not voting any single post of his personal account anymore since weeks. The curator of this trail gets rewarded for his work on the trail. The curator of this trail will not become rich because of this. The curator of this trail will reward Steemians introduced by the trail from his own rewards (which is less than 20% of the trail rewards) starting next week after HF19 has been implemented:

Ich muss sagen, ich bin dankbar für die Unterstützung über diesen Account. Gerade nachdem ich hier lange nicht aktiv war, ist diese Curating-Initiative hilfreich, um wieder den "Anschluss zu finden", motiviert zu bleiben, etc. ... ähnlich wird es m. E. auch den Neuen auf Steemit gehen.

Really great job! The little fish are supported in an excellent way. There is no doubt about it.
But I have an important question: What is about "Austria" and many Kantons of Switzerland? There is German spoken, too. Even south Tirol. I suggest to enclose these regions into the focus of this trail. And their authors, too. Do you agree?
Totally agree - we also voted several Austrian authors and also introduced people from Switzerland. Open for any suggestion - and as said (should these Trails still exist in the future) I will pay the people that will be introduced here a decent part of the rewards from my own wallet - starting this week after HF19 was the plan.

Thanks a lot @charles1 - I am not sure how long this account can really help the community given a dedicated German is trying to kill the project - i will fight for it to survive against whale votes but can not guarantee it will work moving forward - here is hope HF19 will solve that.
All good projects use to get attacked and hacked by haters. However to be successful, those who believe in it fight on even harder for success which will surely come due to their efforts. I am with you and ready to lend my support so that we will evolve and be steemit representatives in DACH region. Success and keep up the good work

Ich finde ja wirklich, dass wenigstens der @german-trail mit gutem Beispiel voran gehen sollte und dann auch wirklich deutsch schreibt, wenn deutsch in der Tag–Liste steht. Ansonsten kann ich diesen Trail nur begrüßen. Alles, was hilft UK/US was vom Pool abzuringen ist zu begrüßen. Nur weiter so, Uwe, aber die Regeln gelten auch für einen Trail!

I really like the idea of discovering and supporting good german content to support and grow the german community of steemit. If I were you, I'd try to focus more on the support of and engagement with new users.
I also have some notes regarding what you said in your post.
It's a bit strange, that this rule doesn't hold back the gardening-trail, the poetry-trail and the fiction-trail to vote on a football-post by the german-trail.
Becoming "rich" is an elastic term in this context:

Danke! Ich wollte mich sowieso demnächst mal mit steemdb beschäftigen... Also, wie ich das jetzt sehe, ist die Idee dieser Trails an sich gut, um Autoren etwas mehr für ihre Arbeit zurückzugeben. Das ganze kann aber auch in eine ganz andere Richtung gehen, wenn andauernd dieselbe Art von "in das Muster passenden" Posts gepusht werden. Damit habe ich irgendwie ein Problem, denn es fühlt sich dann an, als wenn ich Mainstream News lese. Von oben vorgegeben was gut ist und man als Deutscher gut zu finden hat. Als würden wir eine zentralisierte Macht innerhalb eines dezentralisierten Systems schaffen...
Aber wahrscheinlich sehe ich das jetzt zu skeptisch. Wir sind ja auch gerade erst in der Startphase, zumindest was den deutschen Bereich betrifft und ich habe selbst ja auch bereits von den Trails profitiert. Damit es nicht zu einseitig wird, müssten wir dafür sorgen, dass es mehr alternative Trails gibt und das ist ja auf jeden Fall möglich. Ich werde mir da mal Gedanken zu machen.
Das Hauptproblem ist, dass sich die Trails gegenseitig (sogar mit mehr Power als sie kuratieren) gevoted haben. Damit ziehen sie effektiv Geld aus dem System und schaden letztlich mehr, als sie nutzen.
Wenn man bedenkt, dass alle User einen höheren Payout bekämen, wenn die Trails gar nicht voten würden, dann ist das ganze System mehr als auch fraglich. Ich denke, wir müssen uns bald ganz neue Wege überlegen, wie wir neue Benutzer supporten können.
Der Kern des Problems und vieler anderer liegt in der Möglichkeit des automatischen Votens. Würde man händisches Voten z.B. mit einer Captcha-Abfrage erzwingen, wäre hier alles anders.
Es wird immer Versuche geben, das System für den eigenen Profit auszunutzen. Im Zweifel heuert man dann halt eine chinesische Clickfarm an, die die Captures für einen löst.
Es gab zB. mal Überlegungen, die möglichen Rewards (pro Post) zu begrenzen. Aber dann würden die Cheater halt einfach mehrere Accounts anlegen. Oder wie wäre es, wenn man auf jeden Account nur einmal in 24 h voten dürfte? Das hätte wahrscheinlich die gleichen Folgen.
Meiner Meinung nach sollte viel mehr Gewicht auf die Kommentare gelegt werden. Hier findet echte Interaktion und Community-Building statt und das lässt sich zwar auch mit Bot-Comments unterwandern, die sind aber viel einfacher zu durchschauen, als die Circle-Jerks der Sockpuppets.
Wie Recht du doch hast! Es wird wohl das beste sein, sich nicht zu sehr auf die Rewards zu fokussieren, sondern auf die Inhalte, sowohl die eigenen als auch die der anderen.

Why not respect his wish to not be tagged anymore? Why laugh at him? It's not about competition. Competition thinking is what made the world it is now. Unite and grow together. Respect each other and each others wishes.

Think we have just an issue in general - a chemistry not fitting - however i appreciate what @felixxx is doing for the German community - i also try to support the same community but we have different approaches

honestly - your points do not matter for my feelings but I appreciate them - originally i joined this platform for the fun in writing and engaging - was cool - great community I met tons people helping each other, now it is a bit more complicated, the more potential rewards are involved - too complicated to me currently. I hate fighting or discussing in general, i really do - thanks for your support here when I started here originally
