STEEM, a living entity.

When people see STEEM the first time they are only looking skin deep. It's like a human with their own personality that takes time to figure out and get to know.

To find out what lurks beneath the surface and all of the different intricacies that makes STEEM tick.

There is a saying that I heard years ago or even came up with myself but it's one that I've always liked.

"Looks attract but personality holds."


The interpretation being that you might see a highly attractive person and fall for the pretty face instantly but if there is nothing beneath that, there is no future with them. It's fleeting and shallow to judge based on appearances rather than all of the layers beneath that which form a real bond with a person.

STEEM has the opposite approach at the moment. With steemit as the face we are a solid 3/10 at the moment and not great to look at. The STEEM price are the clothes which the world sees when they glance in our direction. How we present ourselves in public.

Again, we aren't projecting the best image to attract attention but that can all be changed with a bit of a make over and a quick face lift.

To judge STEEM based on this outer layer is to miss out on the personality behind it. The true value of STEEM.

When you look beneath that surface image that we present to the world, you will realize there is a full eco system running STEEM and a personality formed by it.

Like any other body, it's formed by a huge amount of parts that are working in conjunction to keep it running smoothly.

The human body is like a complex
machine, with many little parts that work by themselves or with other parts to perform specific functions. The smallest living unit in any
organism is a cell and the human body is made up of trillions of them.

Organ systems are formed when two or more organs work together to perform a larger task. The mouth, throat, stomach, large and small intestines, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder all work together, as the digestive system, to process the food we eat so that our cells can absorb the nutrients and convert it into energy.

There are many systems in the body, such as the skeletal, muscular, circulatory, nervous, digestive, immune, respiratory, urinary, and reproductive systems.

If you look at STEEM beneath that outer layer on steemit.com and coingecko you will begin to see the real STEEM. The people's blockchain.

It actually is a complex machine made up of many little parts. The smallest living unit being the users. Not so much the whales and orcas but the minnows and dolphins. The unseen users that are needed to form every other part of the chain and give it purpose. The whales and orcas give the chain it's personality. They are the people with most stake and have the most say in how we operate and our behaviours. That can be both positive and negative depending on how they interact with you.

The organs are the apps. All of which are formed to facilitate the users. Different apps for different purposes. Ones to gamble, blog, vlog, game.... Performing functions to keep the eco--system alive and well. STEEM itself is the life blood of the whole system and flows through every part of it.

There are many systems underlying the chain just like the human body and just like the body it can get sick and require attention and medicine.

Some of the crypto world had even declared us dead. Lifeless and without a pulse over the past couple of years.

Little did they know that it was the opposite.

While STEEM might not have looked great on the surface, underneath it has been building up muscle, been on a healthy diet and is stronger and leaner than before. Sometimes you need to look a little deeper to see what the true story is.

We might not be as flashy on the surface as TRON, EOS or many other that have been getting all the attention lately but we have the personality to last the distance. As I said in the beginning,

"Looks attract but personality holds."

Hopefully we will have the full package some day but for now we are all invested in this relationship as we can see the true beauty of the STEEM blockchain. There is a reason we are all committed to STEEM for the long term.
