Wilder vs. Fury | Will it Happen?

To be honest, heavyweight boxing at the highest level professionally is at a bit of a stalemate. Dillian Whyte beating Joseph Parker in an all out war kind of removed two contenders for the pool, and Joshua along with Fury are all booked up with their respective opponents.

Povetkin is far more dangerous than the man Fury will be facing in the ring, but a nearly 3 year lay off has conditioned Fury in a mindset which makes him a bit uneasy in fighting the best of the best. Not quite yet for the Gypsy King, but possibly soon as his promotion teases.

Frank Warren along with Lou Dibella and Deontay Wilder's management team have hinted at an upcoming fight between the Bronze Bomber and the Gypsy King. This would be a fight for the ages, and it may X out Anthony Joshua as being considered the king at heaveyweight.
I would personally favor Fury in this fight, but his layoff along with Wilder's power and eagerness to fight anyone in the division makes this fight more interesting than anything else. I think Fury does feel confident now, but I will personally have to see him in one more fight.

This upcoming performance against journeyman Pianetta will hopefully give the Gypsy Kinf more ring time than his bout with Sefer Seferi.. a man who almost didn't want to be there once he got hit with the first punch. Mismatch or not, that fight was somewhat of a disgrace to boxing.
We will see what happens when skill meets power in Wilder vs. Fury, I hope it isn't all talk just to exclude Joshua and create hype to the other promotion. If boxing at the highest level becomes more an attention whoring contest than anything else, it just won't be a good look.

Let just see how it turns out

Man I hope so! Seems like AJ didn't want it, or well the management couldnt get it all sorted out, but Fury will take it!

THe thing about Wilder is, I'm not doubting his record, but he doesn't really look very good as a boxer, even when he wins. I think Fury could potentially expose this and absolutely school him.

Again, I'm not doubting Wilder! You don't go 39-0 without being amazing. But still... those massive winging punches just doesn't look skillful. But it certainly works!

I think Fury vs Wilder will be amazing, and who else have the got to fight? Well, Fury should get through his next opponent fairly easy (but lets wait for that first) and AJ has a tough fight ahead of him, then really there will be a 3 way showdown!

Wilder will win... there's no doubt it. Looking forward to Wilder and Joshua flight. But, it's not likely to happen very soon because no one wants to be defeated. Maybe it will be the last match for Wilde. After that match, he can retire. Win or Lose, even draw

Hope the fight happens. While Fury got the huge upset over Klitschko over 3 years ago, that's been it, so he still has something to prove to me. That being said, he is unbeaten, and was Heavyweight Champion, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. The Heavyweight division has a lot to offer right now, with the prospect of these three possibly having a round-robin with each other.

We've been waiting for something like this for a while out of the big boy division and it would be a shame if the fights didn't happen. I hope the fight happens, and puts added pressure on Joshua to get in the ring with these guys. They all have a long way to go as far as building their resumes, etc. They are going to need to fight each other or really they are just going to damage to their own careers, and ultimately, the sport of boxing. The sport is always at its best when the best are fighting the best, period. Good article, let's get these boys in the ring!
