It’s very difficult to choose a draft prospect especially if you have one of the top 5 picks. Sometimes the number 1 and 2 overall picks thrive and become a franchise turning kind of player. Some of them become busts. Some did not turn to be a player everybody expect them to be. And others are being surpassed by players that are picked later than them. Over the course of NBA history, we’ve seen outstanding players fall under the top 5 because there are some teams that made terrible mistakes in choosing their picks. Darko Milicic, Derrick Williams, Greg Oden and Anthony Benneth are examples of that. Today, we are going to discuss the top 3 best players that was selected fourth overall.

Chris Bosh

Chris Bosh was picked 4th overall during the 2003 NBA draft (arguably the best draft class in NBA history). This pick was okay because he is the fourth best player in this draft behind Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. He was a dominant player when he was in Toronto and turn out to be the third option when he joined the Miami Heat. Bosh was an underrated defender who can protect the rim with his length and his defensive awareness made him a good shot blocker. He’s also a stretch big who can space the floor and knock down long range shots. He was a competitor. He won two championships in Miami and still wants to play after suffering from blood clots that ended his career.

Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook was the 4th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. He already made history after becoming the only player in NBA history to average a triple-double in two consecutive seasons and he’s likely to become the league’s all-time leader in that category if he continues to play at this level. Russell was accused of stat-padding and selfishness. People say that Westbrook only cares about stats and not winning championships. Stats are all that matters to him, that’s what peoples say. They think that is the reason why Kevin Durant left him. But despite all that, Westbrook is still one of the most dominant guards the league has ever seen, a very unstoppable guard that can involve his teammates and rebound like a center.

Chris Paul

Chris Paul was the 4th overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft. He’s one of the greatest point guards all time with no doubt. He’s ability to run the floor, sweet handles and defensive awareness makes him a top notch guard in the league. Paul was being criticized every year because of his lack of success in the playoffs. He never makes it past the 2nd round. But this season, at 33 years old, Chris Paul advances to the Western Conference finals with the Houston Rockets. They will face the Golden State Warriors and he will have a chance to make a shot to the finals and win his first championship. It will be a difficult road for him but this matchup is one of the most important moments of his career. His in a verge of entering father time and it may be his last chance to win a championship but still, he’s a lock to make the hall of fame.

Not quite on the level of Russell Westbrook or Chris Paul, but I'd certainly put Rasheed Wallace (1995) ahead of Bosh on this list.

Also have to give an honorable mention to Dikembe Mutombo as the #4 overall selection out of Georgetown in 1991

Yeah youre absolutely right man. :)

@therealwolf 's created platform smartsteem scammed my post this morning (mothersday) that was supposed to be for an Abused Childrens Charity. Dude literally stole from abused children that don't have mothers ... on mothersday.
