Two of the top four teams in the league will go head-to-head on Monday evening, at 7:10 CST in no other place than Minute Maid Park, in Houston, Texas. The Yanks are anticipating their 10th consecutive win, after quite a rough start to the season, they were finally able to find their path. Houston, on the other hand, is seeking their fourth win in their last 5. Vegas is giving the upper-edge to the Astros, as they have home field advantage, occupying the -150 favorites position. Furthermore, the game is projected to pan out with a total of 9 runs on the scoreboard.

Sonny Gray is getting the nod to pitch in their series opener. Gray has had a very shaky start to the season. Sonny is one of the players the Yankees aqquired in the offseason who was anticipated to sway the Yankees performance in a beneficial way. But, it’s been the contrary for the most part. Sonny is 1-1 through 5 games, and he’s allowed 18 runs to cross the plate. He’s maintaining a seemingly large 7.71 ERA, and if he can’t make a transition into what we’re accustomed to seeing of him, he will be finding himself out of the Yankees.

Charlie Morton is upholding a 3-0 record, early in the season. Conceivably, Morton’s only had one inadequate performance, which was in his most recent outing last time against the Angels, giving up 4 runs and exorbitant amount of walks, with 5 total, which reflects the number of hits he allowed as well. Not to mention, Morton has peaked with 12 K’s in one game, and if he could imitate that performance this evening, the Yankees may be at fault.

Peculiarly, DiDi Gregorious is leading his star-studded team by an unaccompanied .340 batting average, and the only Yankee who has 10+ homeruns under his belt. All-star power-hitter, Giancarlo Stanton has not lived up to his expectations as a Yankee. At best, you could say Stanton is having an average start to the season, batting .240 with 5 HR’s and 15 RBI’s.

Carlos Correa and Jose Altuve are the only batters on Houston who are batting overhead .300. Correa was riding a 9+ game hit streak, until it was snapped against Oakland in their most recent matchup. Altuve has hit his two homers in the past 4 times he took the field. George Springer will attempt to elongate his 2 game HR streak to 3 tonight.
