Colorado vs Colorado State: Who to Bet and Why

Tonight is the 89th Rocky Mountain Showdown between the Colorado State Rams and the Colorado Buffaloes. The game is being played at the Mile High Stadium in Denver, home of the NFL’s Broncos. The game is already sold out and this will feature the biggest crowds that these two teams have ever played in front of. This is the most anticipated matchup in this series in over a decade and we will tell you why and who to bet on.

Let's first get started with the Colorado Buffaloes. Last year was a magical year for them as they reached the 10 win mark, including an 8-2 record in the PAC 12, which was good enough to the the South Champs. They were led by quarterback Sefo Liufau, who was a dynamic runner and passer. He lead the team to a 44-7 pounding of the Colorado State Rams last year.

Sefo is now long gone and there is a big question mark at quarterback as Steven Montez takes the starting job. The Buffaloes do have some talent back at wide receiver. Bryce Bobo and Shay Fields will lead the strong unit and if Montez can develop quickly with them, their offense will be very dangerous. They also have their running back, Phillip Lindsay back to take pressure off of the new quarterback.

On the defensive side of the ball, there are a lot of questions for the Buffaloes. Their defensive coordinator, Jim Leavitt, is gone. Also gone is a fantastic secondary. Colorado State will definitely take advantage of this as they love to air it out.

Colorado State started the season off with a bang last week by blowing out Oregon State 58-27. We were all over that game and started the season 1-0. The Rams have one of the best quarterbacks in the country, Nick Stevens. Stevens threw for 334 yards and 3 touchdowns last week. The offense is playing at an even higher pace than last year and will be constantly testing the Colorado defensive backs and safeties. Dalyn Dawkins is a solid running back and will be a big weapon out of the backfield.

The defense last year was a huge problem for the Colorado State Rams. They are lead this year by Josh Watson and Tre Thomas. They MUST drastically improve from the over 30 points a game that they gave up last year. They will have their work cut out for them against the talented wide receivers and running backs that the Colorado Buffaloes have.

This will be a high scoring and fun game to watch. We told you in our Steem Sports Cast last night that we LOVE Colorado State +4.5.
