Another superb match day of the Bundesliga has finished. It was the 8th and broke a new record with 33 goals scored on a single matchday and sticks to its name with the top league with the most goals. Also in 4 games out of the last 9, the away team won.
The round was opened with the clash between the promoted VfB Stuttgart and 1 FC Köln, the holder of the last place. Köln is desperately chasing points as the football gods seem to forget them.
The game started with the two teams playing on the same level, with the team from Köln being more offensive. It was the home side which managed to score in the 38' with the shot from Anastasios Donis.
After the break, Dominique Heintz levelled the score with a superb goal in the 77'. The visitors had also a penalty awarded in the last minute, which was cancelled after consulting the video assistant. As chances in football tend to revenge, Chadrac Akolo took the win for VfB a couple of seconds later after the cancelled penalty for Köln.

The young team from Hoffenheim received the visit of FC Augsburg. Only after 5' Sandro Wagner scored with a header but the goal was cancelled due to an obvious offside. After this, the first half ended as it has started 0:0.
Second half was more entertaining. Hoffenheim as hosts scored in the 52' with the header from Benjamin Hubner.
Fc Augsburg did not want to stop the streak of 3 away games without points so they equalized in the 75' with the goal from Michael Gregoritsch which was also his first goal for Augsburg. The game was relaunched and the chances flew on both sides. It was Hoffenheim who took the lead in the 85' where Mark Uth was the scorer. Fc Augsburg did not settle and grabbed a point with an own goal by captain Kevin Vogt in the 89'who had his 150th game for Hoffenheim.

As missed chances seem to result in revenge, Mainz took the lead in the 52', with a header from Stefan Bell. 6' later, they increased their advantage with a goal from Danny Latza. HSV still did not want to accept defeat and pushed for the points managing a goal in the 90' by the effort of Sejad Salihovic. It was not enough as the Mainz defence tightened and kept the 3 points at home.

Frankfurt arrived in Hannover to stop the series of 11 undefeated games at home. They showed this from the beginning scoring in the 10' with the lifter from Sebastien Haller. Hannover did not lose the temper and with a header from Salif Sane in the 36' managed to equalize.
The second half was rather dull, with few chances. Only a last-minute action leads to the win of Frankfurt when Ante Rebić scored the final goal.

As Heynckes has returned on the bench of FC Bayern, everyone was looking at the changes to the team. The start was something that reminded all of the time Heynckes left the team, having a starting line-up close to the winning team in 2013.
In the 8' Julian Schuster scored an own goal by the deflected shot from David Alaba. Both sides played with the chances but only Kingsley Coman doubled the score for Bayern with a header in the 42'.
After the break Thiago in the 63' scored the goal that set Bayern on playing the game they like to play. Two more goals, one from Robert Lewandowski in the 75' and the last one in the 90' by Joshua Kimmich made a perfect debut for Jupp Heynckes.

Jupp Heynckes is back.
The derby of the game day was played in Dortmund between the table lead Dortmund and the ones in the 3rd spot RB Leipzig. Dortmund had before this game a tremendous record of 41 undefeated games at home.
The game started strong with a goal in the 4' by the top goal scorer this season Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for BVB. The advantage was in place only for 6' as Leipzig's captain Marcel Sabitzer equalized. Yussuf Poulsen took Leipzig to lead with his goal in the 25'.
After the break, Sokratis was sent off in the 48' minute and Leipzig scored from a penalty with the effort of Jean-Kevin Augustin in the 49'. Stefan Ilsanker, from RB Leipzig, received his second yellow in the 56'. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 64' minute reduced the advantage of Leipzig but it was not enough to remain undefeated.
Many would say that it was the best game this season in the Bundesliga.

On Sunday we had only two games. The first match played at the BayArena in Leverkusen between Bayer 04 and VFL Wolfsburg.
It was an entertaining game where both teams started decisively to grab the 3 points. Lars Bender in the 29' put the home team in advantage. Vfl did not want to settle and recovered in the 44' with a goal by Divock Origi.
After the break, the chances have been split. In the 61', Lucas Alario put Bayer 04 again to lead. Jakub Blaszczykowski scored in the 69' for Wolfsburg, settling the 4th draw in a row for Wolfsburg.

The round was closed by the encounter in Bremen between the local team and the visitors from Mönchengladbach.
SV Werder Bremen is still without a victory this season and started the game with lack of confidence. Mönchengladbach was here for the 3 points and showed this in the 24' with the opener from Lars Stindl. After 7' Jannik Vestergaard closed the score taking the 3 points. Bremen tried but it was not enough as Borussia Mönchengladbach closed perfectly the defence.

Good to see the old man back at Bayern... Now Champions League will be very interesting!
I think also that the old man has a lot to show. Today they've redone the team picture :))
Wow! Cool review!
When Heynckes dies one day, Bayern will have a problem.
They will need to clone him. If he would have been 35 years younger he could have played for Bayern. I hope that he will not make another legendary season in the Bundesliga because of the beauty of the competition.
