Starsky & Hutch (walk into a local coin shop — part 2)
Starsky & Hutch walk into a local coin shop, or three, and gorgeous mayhem ensues!
Here’s part 1 from 3 weeks ago:

Well we were at it again today!!! I wheeled the Ford Torino around the corner sidewayzs —driftin’ like a pro — a couple minutes after high noon! I greeted @ronaldoavelino warmly as he flew through the window Dukes style and handed me a cup of coffee, without a drop being spilled! We put the hammer down and squeeled away from Broadway & Cambie sky-train station like we were going off the rails on a Crazytrain
It was good to catch up with Ron mano a mano. We told stories, and laughed, and speculated, and talked cryptos, and laughed some more and then boom! 15mins later were at the end of the line.
First we hit up Richmond VBCE, about a block away. It was mid-lunch hour so the place was packed!!! Ron said “Fuck that!” And turned on his heels... So we walked about another block to “Richmond” Gold — bah ha ha, Ron even asked if they had a Fatburger! 🤣🤣🤣
I struck first!
$36 Cad. So $18 for this Morgan and $9 each for the halves — not the greatest junk story ever told, but very nice specie for a decent rate.
(I’ll let the Party Boy show ya what he got... 🍾🍾🍾🎉🎉🎉🎈🎈🎈 Rono has a Birthday tomorrow May 2nd, so make sure ya all go and say hi and upvote his ass huge! He’ll be flying all the way to Brazil tomorrow, but i’m sure you’ll catch him! 😜👍)
Check this Mofo out! All that’s missing is a Brazillian and a one-piece!!! Lofl!!!
Then we retraced our steps, walked right past the Richmond office for ‘Bitcoiniacs’ and headed South on No. 3 Road. A couple blocks and we were back at the shop i had first gone into last Saturday. Ron’s eyes flared all the way open and i would swear that each eyeball actually saw the other one at the back of his head!
He got busy and i got busy...
Here’s my haul:
I do hope no one is offended at seeing these bits of European History. I mean neither to promote any agenda nor insinuate anything with these pictures.
I also paid a wallop for this beautful Japanese coin from 1899
What a super-badass dragon!!! And cool to have some 80% Japanese silver from the 19th Century! Check it out!
I also picked up 3 more Voyageurs so i could alchemize another hunski — my Jedi stacking science is getting pretty good! We boogied out of there and, t’wat!!? Ron has another parcel he’s toting! ...as before, not my silver not my story...
We walked back to VBCE and wadda’ ya know, just a couple people in line... Ron hit ‘em up and got “just what he was looking for” 😜
I stepped in and passed on a Sunshine 1ozer and an A-mark round — Hell! I had just bought the real thing! I did get some action though. For $100.70cad i walked with 4 more ounces: 3 x 2018 incused and a 2018 Predator Wolf (which is a terrible coin, but fuck! Whatever! I’m collecting ‘em) but damn if it doesn’t look like a British Setter with a wolfie head! Angry fucking Postman nemesis poochie pooch! But it is very shiny 😁
After that we were ready to park our asses! We went to “Whitespot” a legendary resto in BC since 1928, and we scarfed! Double-Double burgers and oh the sweet chair! (I pulled out my ‘28 Harp and marvelled at the synchronicity of it all...)
Ron picked up lunch because he is an Asskicker — thanks again man! — and we jingled and jangled our way out of there. Cross the parking lot and the street and we were back on the train. We rode right back into downtown Van and emerged to a sunny day and blaring cacophony of street musicians and hustle-bustle. I showed Ron to the outbound station and shook his hand. We said: talk tomorrow! And went our separate ways. A damn fine day of stacking and steeming and laughing and scheming.
Funnily enough, the 90 steem i sold Ron 3 weeks ago for $200 is worth $405 today and he was respectfully decent about mentioning it. I told him i was happy he had it and that getting more was probably a good idea — i’d say the same thing to anybody i thought much of!
😳😳😳
So now it’s night again and thedamus is 0 for 10 when it comes to Guinness’es and hours since noon. So Avast stackers! Keep on stacking that loot and spreading the fun whenever you can.
Cheers! from @thedamus

Oooo, I love the Japanese coin, of course I like a lot of Japanese culture too. BTW, who roleplays Startsky or Hutch? Or it changes every time you guys get together. "No I'm Startsky and he's Hutch." 👉
🤣🤣🤣 it changes everytime!
Yeah, the Japanese coin is beautiful. Very kick-ass dragon 🍾☠️🍾
Woo.... I like that Japanese dragon!! Must track down one myself..... my dragon fever rising again!
More dragons please!
Nice silver haul. Badass dragon!!!
Hello, my friend! I have just arrived home, after a 26 hours trip and I came here to read our little adventure. I don't want to repeat what you wrote. As I am very tired I will show what I bought in a couple of days. To plunder with you is the funniest thing that I have done in the last years. Thank you for being the amazing person that you are!
Happy Belated Birthday Ron! I am glad to hear you arrived in one piece. Richmond took a beating alright
👊😎
I’ll try not to loot all the shops by November and we can go out and plunder some more!!!
Y’Arrr Matey! 🌴🏝🗿🗿☠️💀☠️🗿🗿🌴
Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold
Great time! and great coins. that Japanese coin is killer!
Yeah, it has me mezmerized! I may have to go back to the shop and buy another one... UGHHH!!! My stackitus is numismatastisizing!
We all get numismatstitized from time to time, and that coin will surely do it to a guy!
Dragons, ships, skulls oh my!
Heya Fat-E, i’ve got your parcel all wrapped up — it’s going out today 😜👍
Ah the old Ford Gran Torino!!! Dude you are stackin to the sky!! Before long you are gonna have all the Silver in Vancouver!!!👊👊👊
My plan exactly Smithers!!! ...excellent!
Oh my, oh my, what an awesome find!!!! That is a beautiful 20 sen 80% Japanese Dragon coin!!! I so remember not being able to sleep, dreaming about that coin, the first time I saw it! It reminds me to add that to my list to show in the near future! A very fruitful haul of some beautiful coins, @thedamus! And I really appreciate this post!
Cheers 888, there were a few others...mine was $30 cad, but there was a $40, $60 and an $85 version too 😍👍
Yeah, I know... the higher the denomination (and condition of the coin), the more expensive they get. I wanted to get the Yuen denomination, but at that time, it was way too high a premium to pay for a single coin. I think that today, for an average coin, they are at almost $100 US. I have the same year, 1899, and denomination coin as yours! @thedamus, you and I have this coin in common in our stack. Isn't that so NEAT!!!!
I love that! Maybe they travelled over to N. America in the same pocket!
😁👍
OMGwad... what a story that would be!!!! And in the story, you and I were friends in our other past lives as dragons during the Japanese Meiji Emperor Year 32. And of course, at present time we have been reincarnated as humans and silver stackers!
...it’s what i was thinking!
🤣👍
Another great stackventure!
Cheers GA!!! Westcoast is cruisin’!
