Reminder for Membership Contributions Due and Monster Raffle Update
It never rains, it pours. That’s what this week has felt like in the #SteemSilverGold community, but before I start drooling about the Monster Raffle let us first dish out a reminder for our Membership Contributions for June which need to be paid in the next few days if you aren’t Delegating and want to stay on a Contribution Tier.
Remember that if you want to change your Contribution Tier and/or do a mix of Delegation and Liquid STEEM then you CAN. The key number to do that calculation is 0.045 or 4.5%. Just figure out how much you want to Delegate and then subtract it from the Contribution Tier you want and multiply by 0.045 to get the balance of Liquid STEEM. We do realise there is a big jump from Bronze to Silver Tier so we might do something to help address that next month. For June though, this is what we’ve got :-
Contributor Tier | Delegation Option | Liquid STEEM Option |
---|---|---|
Gold Tier | 2500 SP | 112.5 STEEM |
Silver Tier | 1000 SP | 45 STEEM |
Bronze Tier | 250 SP | 11.25 STEEM |
Lead Tier | 100 SP | 4.5 STEEM |
If you have any questions or troubles, please hit us up on Discord. Or if you want to drop your Tier for June please let us know. It is all totally voluntary and there’s no hard feelings, but as a courtesy we would appreciate it if you could let us know because we are about to start renewing SP Leases and it’ll be good to know just how much we will have to spend. One other reminder for new people is that you must be a member of the #SteemSilverGold group to get votes from @ssg-community so get involved, post on the #SteemSilverGold tag, engage with others in the group and get nominated if you’re not a member yet.

The really great news is that the Monster Raffle has a worked up a full head of steam. So far we have around 20 oz of Silver in the pot, which has been Donated by 13 different members and you can see all those prizes HERE. It has been a great community response to help fund a great community initiative and having a look at the Silver in the pot it is really impressive. We have got people putting Silver in from their part of the world, or that represents their character. It is going to end up being a wonderful showcase of both silver products and also a wonderful showcase of some of our community members and their generosity. This Monster Raffle is by far turning out to be the most awesome thing I personally have seen not just in #SteemSilverGold but on the whole STEEM platform.
Just a couple of clarifications. The prizes are not going to go to just 1 person, they are going to be spread around with the idea being that more winners makes for more happy people who are more likely to get more involved in #SteemSilverGold However, there is nothing stopping a group of people getting together and pooling their prizes. It does make it difficult if people put conditions on their prize donation (so please don’t do that) but if you want to pool or piggyback prizes with other members then that is OK. We’ll do our best.

We’d also like to ask our prize donators to send up to 20 words to @buggedout to go in the final Monster Raffle launch post on June 1 which we hope to boost into the Trending pages. These can be 20 words about the prize you’ve put up, or a message to the membership or the winner. We’d like to try and personalise the prizes a bit which hopefully will add some character to the raffle. Just no profanities in the 20 words please.

Also, we haven’t really got many businesses on board yet so if you know someone who is in the business of selling Gold and Silver or is associated with it, please give them a nudge. This is going to be a pretty large event and donating a prize to this raffle is possibly some of the cheapest advertising that a business is going to find.
You didn’t add my contribution to the master list yet.....
Sorry if I missed that. I have been relying on people putting links in the @ssg-community post.
Will find and fix that now.

Yep, all good mate. Thanks.
Let's make that 21 ounces in the pot so far....

Thanks! Some Silver from the home country - I love it! :)
I had to drop my ssg for June temporarily. I had to pull a bunch of SBD off the platform. Will renew the following month, hopefully with a delegation of SP as well.
Looking forward to this raffle. I'd be happy to put up another round for the next one!
As for sending prizes, maybe it would be best if we established some prize custodian before we pick a winner. Everyone can send their rounds to the custodians, and we can get some good picks of the loot pile!
How would a prize custodian setup work? Would that need to involve 2 sets of postage costs?
This time around I see it more as a facilitation role for the @ssg-community team, but maybe there is a better way for next time so we're open to all suggestions.
Ah, you are correct. I was just thinking promotion wise, showing off the stack of silver. The postage would kill us
Yep, it's a good idea. Maybe we can get some cool "Winner Photos" to use as promotional material for the future. It's great that you are thinking about this stuff too! :)
Hey I've got a payout in less than ten dollars. I didn't think i'd have enough to renew this month, but I will! I transferred 4 steem now, and the rest here in a few hours
Payment for June paid ✔️, Donations to our raffle and the community ✔️. Now i'm broke and ready for June and our Epic raffle. Really stocked lets do it👍🏼.
I think it would help people make a more informed decision if the Dollar amount of each Tier's Up-Vote might be estimated with a Chart, showing the up-vote amounts during the Fluctuating Price of Steem between the 2.50 and the 4.00 Dollar range... As I'm typing this, Steem is at 2.68 ...
Easier said than done. The way the STEEM price is fluctuating as soon as you publish a dollar upvote value, it's changed. Nothing worse than promising an upvote value and then not living up to that expectation.
At the end of the day the upvote service is more about the principle of supporting a community not-for-profit service that gives ALL the value back, rather than being focused on giving an ROI. That said I'm confident the ROI on this thing will beat any commercial offering out there that is supporting a profit margin for its owners.
I'm wont be in gold for June. I may grab a lower tier though.
Just upped my delegation to the bronze tier and sent some SBDibbies for the raffle :)
