The third release in this stunning proof set from Silver Shield is the YIN YANG design. It is elegant in its simplicity yet striking in its mirror finish. This coin represents all the Chinese wisdom encorporated into the philosophies of Yin and Yang. It shows that opposite and contrary forces are in fact complimentary, interconnected and interdependent in the natural world.
This is a positive message that can bring comfort and peace in times of stress and trouble. For without one, you cannot have the other. It shows that everything is meant to exist in balance and in sync with the world around it.
There is a whole philosophy attached to the principles of Yin and Yang, in tai chi it represents the masculine and feminine aspects, hard and soft and all other aspects of duality.
Yin is dark, can be represented by the night, the deep and yielding. It is soft and cold, the earth and feeling.
Yang is bright, shown by the light o the day, the mountain and the evident. It is warmth, heaven and reason.
Yin and Yang shows duality in its raw state. Yin and Yang are born from Wuji, the undivided condition where there is no up or down, no left or right. It can not be compared as there is nothing to compare it to. This could also be said to be the same condition that the Buddhist ENSO represents as well.

I love this coin, can see why it's your favourite. Your photo's as usual are awesome and I love the description of the meaning. I know only too well, the depth of meaning to Yin Yang...being a Tai Chi student for many years, I still find it hard to wrap my head round it. Beautiful coin, great collection.

This was my favourite, due to the simplicity, I stacked a few of these when they went on sale, and I have ordered a few in BU and in Copper too! It was my pleasure to share these coins with the community, glad you liked the coin.

Your right, I have given away a couple of copper freedom girls and some other designs from Silver Shield to potential stackers. Most of them have continued on to buy Silver Shield coins in silver from that.

The proof finish certainly makes it pop! The silver shield exclusive proofs are extremely low mintage. It makes me laugh when I see coins called rare, with 10,000 mintages. 95% of the silver shield proofs are under 1000 mintage.
Im only too glad to share, with such low numbers I figure most stackers wont own one. I have plenty more to share in the future too.
