I received an email from @Phelimint earlier today saying that my coins had in fact arrived! I rushed home in order to open up the box and take a look at the coins!

I am sure by now most of you were aware of the idea I had a few months ago to bring a silver coin to the Steem(it) community! There were many stackers who were interested in this project and some who never purchased an ounce of silver in their life, but wanted to get their first ounce since it had the Steem signage on it.

Within a few days of posting the idea on Steemit we had over 500 coins committed from a pre-order sale! We ended up minting only 1,500 coins and these all sold out (minus a few we kept from pre-sale commits that did not purchase) prior to the coins ever arriving.

@phelimint and I will keep you updated on what we ultimately will do with the few coins that did not get sold!

Coin # 0001/1500 - The First Coin

As the creator of the coin, I was given the first coin minted - 0001/1500. Here is the first Steem Silver Coin that was ever minted!
I don't think I can part with this coin!!

I need to give thanks to everyone in the Steem community for believing in myself, @phelimint, and others. Originally I was going to use a different mint than the one we ended up using, but when a Steemian suggested @phelimint could handle I knew it was a great decision.

@phelimint and I spent countless hours on the phone and exchanging messages to figure out how best to approach this from an ordering, design, and fulfillment standpoint. There were many learning points along the way, but it was a great time working with you to design the coin and watch the dream become a reality. Both you and Eli busted your butts and there were many sleepless nights from the E-commerce, shipping, etc. that was involved in this that many people will never see, but thank you guys for being willing to take the reigns on this coin. I hope it brings the attention to your site! Now that the coins have been received by almost everyone who has purchased them, I have a feeling the next coin that is released will need to have a slightly higher mintage due to the demand!

@bearone - the design you created was amazing! Everyone that has seen the coin has been blown away by it! It is certainly a job well done!

@thedamus - thanks for helping Pheli Mint accept BTC on their site to allow many crypto holders pay for their coins using Bitcoin.

@raybrockman - A true stacker at heart, you were the first person I reached out to with the initial idea back in mid-August. He was my right-hand man through this entire process! Thanks brother!

@papa-pepper, @neoxian, @coolbowser, @spicyer, @mattclarke - This is by no means a comprehensive list, but a special shoutout to these guys who were there from the beginning supporting us!!

This was not just some local event or idea, but one of much bigger proportions. It took less than two months to go from a mere idea to coins in hand! That is truly impressive that this shows how powerful working together for the good of everyone can be. This coin will be owned by people on 6 continents before it is all said and done!
