# 75 - $1 Canadian Commemoratives - Part 8
Continuing our series of $1 Canadian Commemoratives, we will see those issued in 1995, 1996 and 1997.
Each coin weights 23.3g with 92.5% silver purity. They were issued in Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated finish.
The first coin is the 1995 "Hudson Bay Company" . It commemorates the 325th Anniversary of the Hudson's Bay Company. From 1670 to the current day the history of the Hudson's Bay Company has been intertwined with that of Canada.
The second is the 1996 "McIntosh". It commemorates the 200th Anniversary of the arrival of John McIntosh in Canada in 1796. He settled in Ontario. The silver dollar pays tribute to the originator of Canada's most important commercial apple.
The third is the 1997 "25th Anniversary of Canada/Russia Hockey Series". It commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Russia Canada Summit Series of Hockey where Paul Henderson scored the series winning goal with 34 seconds remaining.

These are fantastic. It's great that they recognize a variety of achievements from people, companies, and events. The hockey scene looks like it's straight from the highlight film. Fantastic.
