# 73 - $1 Canadian Commemoratives - Part 7

in #steemsilvergold6 years ago (edited)

Continuing our series of $1 Canadian Commemoratives, we will see those issued in 1992, 1993 and 1994.

Each coin weights 23.3g with 92.5% silver purity. They were issued in Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated finish.

The first is the 1992 "Kingston to York Stagecoach". This dollar commemorates the 175th anniversary of the first stagecoach service between Kingston and York in January 1817. Samuel Purdy was only able to maintain regular service during the winter months, hence the sleigh with runners. This is the first issue of a dollar coin in sterling silver.

The second is the 1993 "Stanley Cup". This dollar commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Stanley Cup, first presented during the 1892-1893 season to the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association team by Lord Stanley.

The third is the 1994 "RCMP Northern Dog Team Patrol". It commemorates the 25th anniversary of the last Royal Canadian Mounted Police Northern Dog Team Patrol.

I like be that hockey coin! @mikegpo sent me that one!

To Canadians, hockey is the real deal.

Thanks.

Good looking design!

Especially the one with the hockey player!

RCM has many beautiful coins.

Beautiful coins my friend !!!!

Thank you. This series is one of RCM's best.

Awesome stuff my friend. Are you able to take PMs back to Brazil without much hassle when you travel back and forth?

To leave Canada or US there is no problem. I was caught several times and nothing happened. On arrival in Brazil I was never caught, so I don't know. I know that legal tender is not taxed, but the bars and rounds may be.

Very interesting. I ask because we go to the Philippines ever year or two and my understanding is that they don't allow Gold or Silver bullion to enter. The letter of the law doesn't seem to matter nearly as much as "is your customs agent and probably their immediate supervisor a thief?" In any case I wouldn't fly across the ocean just to have it stolen by a stranger with a badge. That government needs to get their act together.

I am not afraid to be stolen in Brazil Customs. That will never happen. What may happen is a hefty tax on the silver bullion.
