My Daughter's Fantastic Perth Mint Coin Set.
G'day.
About 6 years ago I bought my Daughter a set of Perth Mint 1/2 oz Silver limited edition coins for her Birthday.
She's crazy about animals and in particular she loves Sea Creatures!
It was a Monthly issue where one design was released each Month for 5 Months.
Each one had it's own individually numbered authenticity certificate (very colourful).
Anyway, I forgot I had them in safe storage for her until now so I thought I would take a few photos to share with all the Stackers out there.
I hope you enjoy them!
Thanks for checking them out.
Interesting that I stumbled on you. I am reading a book about Central Australia, very dense psychogeographical tome called "Writing Home" by Glenn Morrison. The U of Melbourne sent it to me to review. I have never been Down Under but I admire the art and culture and have a few online friends from there. Following!

G'day. Cool. That book seems to based in Alice Springs - that's just down the the main road from where I am in Darwin......almost exactly 1,500 kilometres.
We're in the tropics and they're in the desert.
Just down the main road haha! Next town over really.
That is a really nice set also man. I remember when it was released by the Perth Mint.
Actually, there's a couple of reasonable sized towns and quite a few roadhouses and petrol stations between us and Alice Springs. If you get up early enough in the morning you can do the trip in a day. I should do a post on what the trip's like.
Yeah, it's a really colourful set! Perth Mint coins are always really cool.
Yeah I know the NT has lot of places in between. I was trying to make a joke by understating the distance and saying its not far its just the next town over.
Me too. 3 towns in 1,500 kms is not many.
Beautiful set of coins, what was the final mintage number?
Limited to 10,000. Yep, very colourful.
We bought this collection for our daughter as well. We locked them in our safe and just recently realised that we didn't know where the key was, so they're safe from everyone... including us right now!
Great minds think alike! (I hope I don't forget the combination??)
Lol, we do remember the combination and we have now found the key... but the safe keypad battery is flat so we will have to figure out how to replace that now!
There should be an override key .... or an external contact where you can connect a battery for emergency opening (you still need the password).
How do I know this...............obvious really!
Hee, hee... happy to know it's not just us! Tx for the tip.
A very cute set plumey.
Thanks Mate! I'm glad you like it.
I also am starting a Perth Mint collection, not on a regular basis, once every 12 years when my Chinese birth year comes around. I am doing a clean up and found my coin from some years ago.

G'day. Wow....that's a long time between coins!
Did you see the posts I did of the new Chinese Lunar Year coins for 2018?

Thanks for your comment
I have now seen your post about 2018 coins after I read this post. I was also in Darwin Post Office today and seen some of the new coins.
I have looked through your page and noticed that you live quite close to me. I am also in Darwin. I have only been checking out Steemit maybe once or twice a week. Today at least I am taking time to reconnect with Steemit and learn more.

How cool is that! I do a post about silver coins and stumble upon somebody else on Steemit who also lives in Darwin. I wonder if we are the only 2??
