Sparse Coin Hunt
The back had three boxes for me this week that I wasn’t expecting so I had to scramble and pull cash out of a MAC machine from a different account. Paying that $3.00 fee kills me, which is why I haven’t used an ATM in as long a I can remember.
I like to get three boxes at a time because I usually get at least one box with at least 10 silver coins, and it’s a real bummer to come up empty. This week was the exception with the first box having one silver coin, the second box having two, and the third having none. Out of the 3,000 coins I went through only three were silver and 40% at that.
Here’s hoping for better luck in the next batch.

where can I buy the coins to go through them?
I go to my local Wells Fargo branch where I have an account. I just asked the teller if they could order them for me. The first time I got $200 worth and the next time they told me the minimum order was $500. I have worked my way up to $1500 worth. The key is finding a way to cash in the clad coins so you don't have to re-roll them and take them back to the bank. A Coinstar machine is what you need, but the commission on them is way too big. I have a personal account at a Credit Union that has branches with their own branded coin machines and they don't charge a fee to use it so I take the coins back there and get cash so I can get another batch of coins from the Wells Fargo. It seems to be working pretty well so far.
