What's in the box? Day 3: German travel passes.

image

Tonight I'm looking at some German notes. The first one appears to be from a lawyer. I'm not really sure what the content is or how my grandpa got it.

The next two look to be travel passes.

We can only wonder how a soldier from Canada received these German notes...

More unknown photos. This one says Recruitment Station All Branches Canadian Army.

A man and his cow is just timeless. Maybe it's what was for supper?

Day 2 of What's in the box?

Sort:

I can read German and the attorney letter is directed to someone in the battlefield (Feldpost) who is summoned to answer the attorney's (earlier) letters or else the courtcase will be stopped. The other docs are orders for drivers to go from A to B for a specific transport. One has the code of the same Feldpost. It could be that the Germans were killed in that Feldpost (or left) but the letters were found by the Canadians. Someone has changed "fahrer - driver " into Führer = Hitler. Not sure who did this. That's all….

Wow thanks so much!

I love old photos and yours are particularly interesting.
