Found Treasures Episode #4 (ASE #2!)

Now todays piece may seem familiar, but there is something different about it. Today we are looking at this:

This is a 2001 American Silver Eagle, which has toned up in the most incredible way. The reverse of this coin is completely perfect as though it was just shipped from the mint. However, the obverse of the coin has turned completely copper toned. It is stunning to look at because if you just glance it looks exactly like a copper round featuring this design. So much so that when I found it, I really though it was until I picked up the flip it was in. Most of you know that I adore the American Silver Eagle and find the design to be classic and timeless. It is a basic part of my stack and I was thrilled to find this one. Even better than what it is; is how it came into my possession.
One American Silver Eagle was given to each member of my high school graduating class. Inside the flip was a small not, which basically reads “Congrats to all 2001 graduates, May your futures have a wealth of meaning.” This means that at least one of the individuals planning all of our graduation celebrations believed in precious metals as a place to store wealth. This never really struck me until I relocated this beauty. How cool for someone to try and illustrate the importance of real wealth and value to a bunch of kids excited to be moving into the next phase of their lives. I don’t know how many people this influenced, but I must commend that person or persons for trying.

Oh WOW! Whoever thought of that idea of gifting you all one American Silver Eagle sure knew the value of real money! What a great send-off to you and the HS graduates of 2001... unbeknownst to many, the financial fiasco started 9 years later when most of us started our careers. To be thrown into a deteriorating economy that was a result of bad decision makers in Washington in 2009, starting with a president that lacked common sense, very little loyalty to the common citizens, and devoid of patriotism.
@silversaver888 I agree with you fully. I tend believe that many bad decisions were made prior to 2009 by government sticking their noses into things they had no idea about. Then add a commander that had the qualifications you stated and boom serious problem. Thanks for all your support.

A highschool teacher did something similar as the class had the chance to handle a one hundred ounce bar of silver, he was a Economics teacher.
