Welcome to the second episode of Found Treasures here on D Wings World! Today we are going to dig into the booty box and see what other pieces from the past we unearthed during our remodel!! Make sure to check out my first episode of Found Treasures here. On this episode we travel back in time to 1994. Those of you that have followed me for a while will know that my pocket piece is a 1994 American Silver Eagle with some interesting toning.

Well 1994 must have been a year everyone had silver on their minds or at least Silver American Eagles because while searching through my belongings I stumbled onto this little guy.

Here is the obverse with a little toning, but copper look is more due to the flip. Overall it is still shiny and bright.

Here is the reverse and you can see more of the true bright silver color that is on it.

On the reeded edge you can see some of the darker toning I was speaking about.
I wish I had a really good story for this piece ,but honestly I could not recall how I came upon it. After talking to my parents it seems that they bought it for me as a gift. They could not recall why, and I proceeded to research the year myself. I found that during 1994 there was a bump in silver prices reaching approximately $5.75 usd an ounce in March of the year. This was due to political unrest in Mexico, which was the worlds largest supplier at the time. I can only figure that this movement in the market did the same thing it does today (People usually don't change especially when it comes to the markets) , it caused a ton of hype. This hype translated into people buying silver on the peak instead of on the way up. The price then began to drop as European suppliers stepped into the market. The price bottomed out in November of 1994 at $4.90 usd and like usually the hype probably went away. Whether this is the reason that I now have two 1994 American Silver Eagles or not, all I can say is I am very happy they got it. American Silver Eagles are part of my base stack and really retain a good value since they are the most widely known government bullion coin (in my opinion).
What do you guys think? Do you have any older American Silver Eagles? Maybe the whole run? Let me know down below. Thank you guys for all your support and time!! Please remember to upvote, resteem, and reply!!

Thanks! ~ D Wing

Some very nice '94 eagles. If only we could go back to when silver was that cheap, we would mop it all up.

I only have the 1 ASE and that's because I won it in a youtube giveaway 😉

@welshstacker, when I was typing the post I was thinking about that. With my luck it would be only at 1.00 usd if we did that lol. Very cool on how you got that one though! They are a base in my stack and I often advise those looking to get into our lifestyle to use them because they retain their value and are not crazy expensive. Thanks for your support brother!!

I am new in steemit and I don't have any silver or gold, but I intend to start a collection. First I must learn and after I will spend money wisely.

The American Silver Eagle is an excellent pocket piece, and so patriotic! I have some that I can spare and put in my purse for good luck, hehehe! And when I chance upon them in the course of looking through my purse, then I will remember you and say to myself... "Now, why did I not think about that?"

@silversaver888 I am sorry for the late reply. I thought I had commented back to you but its seems not to have uploaded. I agree that the ASE works great for a pocket piece! Your purse idea is awesome and it wpuld be a pribledge and an honor to be thought of in connection with such a great coin. Thank you so much my friend!!
