Finally, after a week or so of waiting (finally taking the plunge), this little packet arrived for me in the mail. Of course, like all things that you are excited to be receiving, it arrived when I was out of the house. Luckily, it was delivered straight into our letter box, and not to a neighbour's house, where I would have to wait another night before I could get my hands on it!

The unpacking

So, first the mandatory pre photo. The package is ready to be demolished with my hyper manly pink safety scissors! Hey, it was the closest thing around, and it does the job just perfectly!

It's funny, a cute little thing inside! What could it be???

Okay... I get that this is something that needs to be well protected... but at some point, it gets to be like the kid's game of Pass the Parcel... except that there is no prize at each and every layer. Also, there is no music... or screaming... or anything like that. Other than that, it is exactly like pass the parcel!

Ooooh... Shiny!

Apologies, my photography skills leave a bit to be desired, but finally I got to the nice silvery centre of the package! It is a 30 gram Lunar 2 series (Year of the Rabbit) from the Perth Mint, bought from a seller on Ebay.

It is a coin that I wanted to get as my first piece, as it has sentimental value (my oldest daughter is a rabbit) and as such, I thought that if I couldn't get this piece, then I wouldn't want to be collecting the Lunar Series at all. However, I did end up finding a reputable seller (all the retail sellers were out of stock). Oddly enough, only 7/8 years back and it is really quite difficult to find this piece. In the end, it was a little bit more expensive than I would have liked, but was okay seeing as it wasn't available anywhere else!

So, now I get to revisit my wish list on the retailer site, and check up prices against resellers and see if I can give this little Rabbit some company!
