What is Steem Sharks?

Steem Sharks is a pitch and startup show especially for anarcho-capitalists / extropian entrepreneurs. 

(note: Steem Sharks is not affiliated with Dr. Evil nor Mr. Wonderful Kevin O'Leary) 

What's a Steem Shark?

An individual who is invited on the show, who listens to pitches, asks good questions, discusses the pitch, offers advice, and possibly becomes an investor in the startup.

This sounds a lot like 'Shark Tank'.

It is similar the 'Shark Tank', but it has 4 huge differences:

1. audience members (not only the Steem Sharks) are able to participate in the investments. (more akin to crowdfunding)
2. we only deal with ideas that seek to #buildfreedom or radically improve human life.
3. our Steem Sharks will be able to research the startup before the pitch happens.
4. we don't sensationalize interactions between 'the pitcher' and the panel for mainstream ratings.

Seriously though, the above list is incomplete. I hope that I have missed 1000+ individuals who meet my criteria for joining the Steem Shark's Circle of Awesomeness...

Criteria for Becoming a Steem Shark:

1. be a person of integrity (do what you say you will do)
2. be philosophically congruent with myself (voluntaryist / anarcho-capitalist / extropian)
3. have an interest in technology and startups that may #buildfreedom 
4. have some business experience and some success at being self-made

In a few weeks I will post an update that will include all of the current Steem Sharks who have agreed to participate in the project.

What is required of those who become Steem Sharks?

1. Commit to doing 4 episodes per year of Steem Sharks. (we will match you up with startups within your area of interest and expertise.)
2. (optional) Sit in on round table discussions about developing new enterprises and recruiting capable entrepreneurs.
3. (optional) Subscribe to Chomps!, our opt-in update emails which will keep you in the loop on all new pitches.
4. (optional) Mentor entrepreneurs.
5. (optional) Help promote projects.
6. (optional) Co-produce episodes.
7. (optional) Help find entrepreneurs to pitch

As you can see, a Steem Shark can be as involved as he wants to be in this project.

When is the first episode of Steem Sharks?

November 20th 2016!

What's the format of a typical Steem Sharks episode?

• The entrepreneur will be given 2 minutes to pitch their idea.
• Then the Steem Sharks will ask him or her questions.
• Questions will also be taken from the audience by way of the chat room.
• A period of discussion and suggestions from the Steem Sharks.
• And then the negotiation / investment session.

There will be a long tail after each episode as more and more people watch it and decide to invest in the entrepreneur's offer. 

How do I technically get on the show?

We record the show on youtube, and each participant; myself and my co-host, the 2 Steem Sharks chosen for the episode, and the Entrepreneur who is pitching, will each be in front of their own computers.

You will need a head set or mic, and a web cam. 

What can I do to help?.
