RE: Worlds First Learn and Earn Excel Online Course
maybe i dont know what im talking about as i am not a dedicated regular steemit user but based on your 1st weeks course and what you described on this post correct me if im wrong but is this not simply reposting course classes from your own personal blog onto steemit(which is a social network not a blockchain) and all revenue and rewards are simply coming from exposure to the posts and upvotes from you,people taking the course, and random people that happen to find them in the trending feed? which is then paid out with steem which is given freely by the social network based on the strength of your steempower through the network.
if all of the above is right i only ask because minus the upvote rewards aspect none of this has anything to do with cryptocurrency and blockchains yet its strewn all through this post as if you have integrated the coursework and material directly into the steem blockchain somehow. it feels like you are trying to take advantage of peoples lack of knowledge of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology in hopes for greater exposure to your courses. if nobody of significant steempower sees this post or further courses in actuality the combined effort of new users joining steemit and asking questions will not amount to more than pennies of steem and only that if everyone upvotes each others questions.
again if im misinterpreting anything of whats really happening here feel free to correct me but from what i am seeing you are simply reposting blogs to a public forum and answering questions from the course work which is great for those that a video on its own isnt enough but it isnt exactly something new or revolutionary.

further reading into steemit itself i guess it is technically integrating posts into the steem blockchain however its an automatic process that in all honesty except for the infinite archiving purposes it doesnt actually add anything different from any other social media website. the weekly course posts with work modules are links to other posts within steemit site videos posted from another site and documents downloadable from yet another site.
edit edit: theres also a minor flaw in this for long term revenue purposes unless the sole purpose is to earn a little bit of steem for the act of giving away the entire course for free or driving traffic to an external website. after the 1st 7 days all posts no longer generate steem for upvotes thus weeks/months/years after the course has been given away you will as the creator not see any more money from it. alternatively there are sites where you can sell courses for next to nothing and still see revenue for years after it has been created. or free on your own site with tip/donation links.
further looking on your website i see many courses that you are selling as a premium will these be integrated into steemit as well?
i just dont see much steem coming that way towards courses made this way or the comments that are generated from the courses which is kind of your whole concept.

At the moment, the videos are hosted on Dlive, this is part of the steemit blockchain and by adding content, you are sharing and distributing it via blockchain. Dlive is an interface for the steem blockchain.
Reading content and coursework is posted via blog on Steemit, Steemit also being an interface to the steem blockchain and by adding content this way it is distributing it via blockchain.
The only content that is not on the steem blockchain is the download material. at the moment the steem blockchain does not offer this as a solution.
The biggest difference is that on steem, instructors like me have the opportunity to earn from votes while also giving votes and rewarding learners. Where as with a more traditional model, instructors like me charge $$ for people to take our courses and give nothing in return. As I said this is experimental and I need to see if it is viable to distribute course material on steemit and also make a living at the same time.
It would be so awesome if I did not have to charge people for my courses but I could still make a living from them. And hay, if a learner is going to pay $10, or even $100 for a course but could earn a little crypto instead, then why not?
if you are looking for interactive course training environments there is already a solution for that though it does not involve blockchains udemy courses provide feedback by the course creators/students in a community environment that can be as interactive as the creator wants it to be.
again im not saying the concept isnt a nice idea but its not a long term solution for those that are looking to make something for their efforts after they spend the time putting it all together
and there is very little chance that learners will earn anything by simply replying to the posts via questions or otherwise.
i guess all i'm saying is if you only intended on giving away the course for free with no strings attached then yes this would be a viable way to make something purely on the exposure it may generate in a short brand new way of distribution/interaction with learners(and maybe make some money upfront).
but if you want it to be anything beyond that it probably will disappoint.
as a best selling udemy instructor, I get $2.5 per course sale a best. Blockchain also add the ability to remove the middle man and steemit can be as interactive as you like.
There is already a Youtube- so why does Dtube stand a chance? There is already twitch but Dlive is taking over. Udemy is a centralized platform where instructors pay a lot of money in terms of course takings to host their courses on that platform.
And yes there are no string attached with this course, you don't even need to have a steemit account to view the material, however if you want to interact with me as an instructor, ask questions and get help, then you need to have a steemit account. With Udemy, you can not view even a free course without parting with personal information and your email address.
You only get two and a half bucks per course? Wow, that is pathetic. No wonder so many of the courses there are so bad—paying rock bottom prices like that, they don't do much to attract good teachers. Steemit holds much more promise than that udemy model.
I think steem hold so many possibilities for instructors and other businesses. Yep $2.5, courses never sell for full value, there is always a $10 deal on then udemy takes a cut and thats what I am left with. Hence having premium courses on my own site. This is an experiment, lets see how it goes :-) thank you for your support
the 7 days payout has been overcome with a weekly learn and earn post. I understand the reoccurring revenue from teaching online, it has been my sole business for the last 10 years. If this course is successful on steemit and I can make revenue then yes, other courses will also be integrated and there are many more instructors that are following the progress of this with keen interest.
So when the course has been run through it's entirety once the plan is to post the 1st module over again and just replace the original module link? So they continually refresh and bypass the 7 day max payout? If that's the case as long as it's allowed on steemit I fully get how this all works and did not realize you only got 25% from udemy that is unfortunate I have found some decently helpful courses there over the years.

i have yes but not in a website format it was more hands on in a 3d virtual world ,which is free has its own virtual currency that can be converted into real world currency and has been around for about 15 years so far.
second life, so are you using project sansar now? as i am also familiar on using these tools
i have not been on sansar yet i signed up but i have spent 9 years on sl and until i see some improvements to sansar for basic functionality i dont really feel like adding another world into the mix yet.
well so you know, there is also a blockchain version, as in a decentralized platform that does the same :-)
