Hi @good-karma,

just a quick idea that came into my mind while reading your document. It is regarding your point 2.

Post poll as comment to post. (after deadline, this comment will be edited with result and giving notice about deadline, which can also be used by UIs to disable voting on options)

I think tcommenting and updating a comment is not the best solution because in huge discussions this post may be one of the last ones and may not be seen by all users.

So a quick idea:

  1. Generate a $POLL_ID.png in your backend that shows something like "Vote is open for 10hours .."
  2. If the deadline occured the $POLL_ID.png should show the results.

So the user would add something like

<img src="good-karms-backend.net/123.png

May be good idea to do so...

Good point, thank you for your comment @dez1337! Although images are usually cached...it could work. But idea of editing is to not allow further voting from any UI (user interfaces, steemit, esteem, busy). Seeing/reading comments and discussions will be easier with www.steempoll.net where you click on comments icon on each option and see all discussions (new/old sorting) related to that option. While all other UIs are giving optional and additional support for participation...

Regarding the caching problem: It is your backend :P Just add some headers in your web server that tells the browser to not cache the image:

Cache-Control: no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate

I get your point. I think you also have to make some kind of business decision here: Do you want the people to visit your page because you can earn some money here with adds or other services or do you want to avoid that users have to switch the service? In the second case solutions are needed that can be integrated into steemit.com out of the box.

@good-karma, thanks for all your incredible work on steempoll! I love where this is going! :) Could you please explain what is the reason for the message I've quoted below?

Voting weight is too small, please accumulate more voting power or steem power!

What is the threshold for voting power to vote on Steempoll, and why should it be so? It seems like at this threshold, steempoll is disincentivizing voting for some reason. Why should I have to have > 44.39% Voting Power to vote? (That is my current voting power when receiving this message) Thanks for any clarification.

You shouldn't get that message unless you're not using posting private key to vote... This process will be improved soon

Hmmm. Definitely the posting key. Oh well, carry on. :)

I will look into this, anyway that shouldn't happen... thanks 😉

Yes, by stake I meant SP/Vest weighted polls, you basically sort/filter result in anyway you want. Design is flexible enough to add any new parameters...

Thanks for suggestion, current app will change with above new changes soon...

Hi @clayop,
Yes reward-burning can be used during poll submissions. But I thought declined payout is same as burning in both cases payout is allocated but not paid out or burned... Please correct me if I am wrong. Although I am very curious if one can create decline payout post with beneficiary to null (reward burning)?!

I am not sure too but the difference maybe burning reward shrinks daily reward pool while decline payout remains it the same.

This is a brilliant idea.Nice post layout. Good job. Voted for good-karma. following too. Resteemed.

How can i make my post more valuable? i make a drawing and my next post i am really trying to overpass like at least 10$ but i feel it's impossible with the low reputation i have, and i don't know why i never earn a lot with my post putting my best on it.. I am making a story with some draw i am creating it will take me couple of week, all of this to try to grow my SP and reputation... one advise?

Hello @jimy74! Thanks for your comment! Welcome to Steem! Things will take time, I would suggest you to follow some of the bloggers and learn from them and slowly gain reputation and have fun along the way... I will give you a follow to check out your future posts 😉

Thanks mate, i will try.
