SteemPH Meet-Up Caravan Ready for the AntipoloFest

Our SteemPH family has recently welcomed new regional arms of SteemPH. We now have one in UAE, Negros, Laguna and Antipolo. @steemph.antipolo has since announced that they will be holding an annual Antipolo Fest, and the first of which will be on March 26 2018. To show our support, the SteemPH Meet-Up Caravan will be there.

A bit of History

This group of highly motivated steemians was first launched as @SteemitAntipolo. I was one of the first few people who read their Introductory Post and what struck me the most was how their group was born out of the desire to do an outreach event for students from De la Paz Elementary School.

We've always known that there is a growing number of steemians in Antipolo. Even before we came up with the meet-up caravan, we've thought of going there to meet Ruah, one of the reputable Filipino steemians in that area. As it happens, @ruah is one of the leads of this group and was the one who told me about the introductory post minutes after it was published. After reading it, I did not hesitate to propose a meet-up for their group. One thing led to another and after 2 weeks, Steemit Antipolo was rebranded as @SteemPH.Antipolo to follow sub-communities' naming convention under the @SteemPH community.

Antipolo Fest

The group has been planning a big event they call AntipoloFest for some time now. Instead of a separate meet-up for the Caravan, Ruah suggested that we be at their event to also talk about what we usually discuss during our meet-ups. According to their post,

"Steemph.Antipolofest is our local counterpart of a Steemfest (annual conference of Steemians all over the world) like this one that we are going to host. Mentoring and exchange of ideas from reliable sources on how to maximize Steemit are one of the goals of the event."

SteemPH Meet-Up Caravan

Since they are already an existing community, we will format the flow of discussion a bit differently, compared to the one we had in Malolos and Cavite. We have also been working with Ruah to find out which topics their group needed help with. Based on those, we have come up with the list below:

Content Creation | Text Formatting & Image Alignment

Although we have taken this out of our discussion flow for our Cavite meet-up, we will revive this topic as suggested by Ruah. After reviewing most of the accounts, we noticed that members of this hub are regular utopian contributors, and we would like to encourage them to write other types of content. We will use the slides we used from our meet-up in Malolos and will add more formatting styles that we have learned recently. We will utilize the lessons from @steemnest in order to expound on these topics.

Tools and Apps

The members have keen interest in the different tools and apps that they can use within the Steem blockchain. This is clearly stated in their post, Mark the date of the first ever Steemph.antipolofest in Rizal conducted by Steemph.Antipolo. We've touched on this topic in our Cavite meet-up and will make sure we do ample research so we can delve more on this in Antipolo.

Engagement

Although we always touch on this topic in our previous meet-ups, we never had a separate discussion for Engagement. For SteemPH Antipolo however, we will allot some time in going into detail on how they can engage with the bigger Steemit community. They are a tight-knit group with members who have known each other for a while now, and we feel that it is crucial to show them that they can still expand that community by interacting with other Steemians.

Power-Up

In our previous meet-ups, we have advocated Powering Up and we plan to do the same in Antipolo. This comes with an explanation on why we, ourselves, are powering up as much as we can. Of course, this is based on our personal experience in the platform and it is entirely up to them if they would follow suit.

Witness Voting

We will take some time to tell them about Steemit Witnesses who we endorse at SteemPH ( @ausbitbank, @surpassinggoogle, @cloh76.witness, @precise), and the reason behind such endorsement. We do not (and have never) required our participants to vote for the endorsed witnesses, but we feel it is important that we all know how these witnesses are helping the Filipino community and the whole Steemit platform in general. We will also show them the our personal list of witnesses and the reason why we feel they are worthy of our vote.

Venue

@SteemPH.Antipolo has chosen Rosalinda Resort as the venue for the event. They feel that the amenities and the space of the resort is just right for the planned activities and program for that day. Our usual budget for the meet-ups of 8000php (roughly 160usd) will still be sent to them as our contribution to this exciting event.
