The Introduceyourself Helpie Curation Incentive

Greetings Steemian's,

Welcome to the The Introduceyourself Helpie Curation Incentive #13.

This initiative is supported by @helpie, and conducted by @futuremind.

It's been a couple of weeks now since the last helpie curation incentive, and it's not been by choice. I have some new Steem duties, and have needed to take time to learn the ins and outs of the duties. I'm feeling pretty comfortable now with adjustments made for time and scheduling of my daily duties, so I decided to go ahead and crunch one of these in while I have some spare time. I project I should be able to maintain at least 1 of these a week from here on out, but will continue to try for as many as possible.

Luckily we have some awesome Steemian's dedicated to the effort of helping newbies off with a decent start. @ocd has been curating new users, I see @slobberchops, @brittandjosie, and @simplymike out in the field all the time while curating, and they are constantly greeting new users. I really appreciate the efforts of all of you, and I know there are more assisting in these efforts as well, so thank you to rest as well. It's quite a testament to the character of the community here, and it gives me a warm feeling when I think about it. What kind of community would we be if we didn't welcome newbies with open arms? You guys and ladies rock, keep on being awesome!

If you're reading and have no idea what this initiative is:

I go out on a search through the introduceyourself tag looking for newbies who put some effort into an introduction of themselves. If the post speaks to me, I give it my massive 0.03 cent upvote, curate with @helpiecake, which is trailed by @helpie, and love votes start pouring in rapidly. It's amazing.

After this, I send a 1 Steem gift to the users wallet, and resteem the post.

Simple as that. It brings a little extra in Steem rewards to the user, and has worked well in attracting attention to the newbies posts in the past. This is the point, and most times we get nice reception from the newb, so we'll continue doing this as much as possible.

Speaking of onboarding, if you're reading this, do be sure to check out CONTEST! | Operation Mass Adoption | 12,000 Steem in Prizes, a @steemonboarding contest currently running. (I'm planning to drop a post discussing the details, but you can read them right now in the link here from steemonboarding.)

I think I've covered everything, so let's present the user I selected, and I'll give details of why afterwards.

Today's Pick:

Hi Steemit - Great to be Here...

Reasons for Selection:

  • Good grammar and formatting.
  • He has a descriptive nature that is easy to follow along with and understand.
  • His interests in philosophy, psychology, physiology, biology, meta-physicality and quantum physics are all futuremind interests indeed :)
  • Super positive, expressed how it makes him feel good to help others.

I think this covers my reasons well enough. Here's the thing, I have a soft spot for art teachers. I don't know why, but I've always had an amazing connection with human beings who are art teachers, and I felt a very warm and welcome sensation while checking out this post. It really spoke to me, and that is why I chose @geoffbarra.

If you are not completely convinced that he is amazing, I strongly urge you to check out his website!

Goodmorning from the Netherlands and thank you for the shoutout. I had a great welcome when I started and help from 4 amazing accounts. So for me the platform wouldn’t be a great one if I don’t do the same for new fierce and confident new account. They are our future. That’s said the Steemterminal takes over the ones I great and we answer all the questions ( we have a lot of guru’s in tha house 😉) the new accounts have in the free and safe area off the steemterminal discord. It’s a coop with @xcountytravelers and @thekittygirl and me but offcourse we love the help from @simplymike and @slobberchops along the way. After that we feature them again in @heyhaveyamet and put them on a trail so if the blog all the way to heaven we might be making dolphins together.
Again much appreciate and blog to you soon.
Have a great Friday and weekend

Thank you so much for the kind words and support @brittandjosie!

I mirror your perspective. The community was pretty welcoming to me when I arrived, so it's only proper to carry it on like a tradition the way I see it, and it's just a good feeling bringing joy to an excited new user. It really makes this place special!

I'm gonna have to make it a point to stop by the steemterminal discord. I'm so busy all the time with different duties I perform daily, by the time I have free time I'm ready for the pillow lol.

Have a great weekend as well @brittandjosie! 😎

Great to see you're keeping this up 👍
Very interesting introduction post you found. I've sent @geoffbarra a small delegation, to give him the chance to becomeinvolved with the community

Thank you for the support @simplymike, I'm doing my best to keep up with everything 😄
I support your choice with this delegation! We'll just have to wait and see what he does with it ;)
Always a pleasure to see you!

Likewise 😉

We'll just have to wait and see what he does with it ;)

Delegating to newcomers is always a gamble. So many drop out again - even with a delegation.

Thank you @old-guy-photos, we have to help the newbs! :)
