Born of the Earth and always in touch with it. She will bring the wrath it has for those that would destroy it.

The Earth Summoner

I was never very connected to my people. They all worked so hard in the forest but to get things made by men. They had forgotten how to listen to the Earth. Many of them loved having me around at first. I had the gift of magic. One that made all around me feel stronger and more able. I didn’t mind lending them my power but I knew that it wasn’t meant for them. I could always feel something else in the forest that was reaching out to me. When I began to learn more about my powers everything changed so fast.

There was many of us at the school learning how to use our powers. Most of the other kids could do a little healing or start a little fire a few of them had skills that impressed me more. I had a passive magic they said. One that did make those around me stronger. They wanted me to stay at the school as the other students all seemed to be better of having me around. I wasn’t till at the end of the first year that they tested us for the power to summon. It was a test many kids didn’t even take. There hadn’t been a summoner in our clan in over 50 years and even the last one had a hard time summoning even a minotaur let alone any of the legendary creatures that once protected us.

I had to wait a bit for my turn. As I came into the tent to try the test it was clear that the masters didn’t expect anything from me. Truth be told they might have just wanted me there to give the others a better chance. As I stood there a I started to feel a power growing in side of me. They just wanted us to summon any insect we wanted. They went over the spells to summon one. Somehow I knew they had forgotten something. I wan’t connected to the animals like I was the earth. To all the life that came from it and wanted to protect it. I stood there and ignored their words. I let the power inside me grow and just as they started to speak I started to summon. Not like they wanted but how the earth told me. My hands made symbols that came to me and I ended by pounding my fist into the ground.

“Lyanna did you listen to anything we said? That isn’t the spel….”

The words froze in his mouth as the Stone Golem rose from the ground. He look around the tent and then down at me. He went down to one kneed a bowed to me.

“My god she is only 9 and she summoned a Golem. That is a master level summon.”

I could hear them talking all a buzz but something was still pulling at me whispering in my ear. So I started again to make the symbols with my hands. They came to me faster and faster and this time when I was done I touched the ground softly. We waited and then they appeared. An Earth Elemental and a Goblin mage a little smaller than me joined the Golem. That was when I felt it the danger that as coming.

“Amazing truly amazing she was able to summon three this is big news. We have to reach out to the Masters….”

The warning horn sounded. I was already aware of the danger coming and ran out of the tent towards it. It was a raiding party of hobgoblins looking to loot the school of anything magical. They charged right at me as I stood there alone to their eyes. By the time they saw the Golem it was too late. The battle was over quickly. What was left of them turn and ran before the masters of the school had arrived. Feeling the danger passed I thanked my friends and released them.

That was my last day in that school. The next years would be spent showing training with many masters of magic. Each time I learned a bit more and learned to be able to summon more and more creatures at a time. I spent time learning what each of them could do. I started to see what creature could work together the best. At the age of 20 they had run out of people to teach me. They said I was finished that I was a master. But something still called to me from the forest so I came here to live in the place that called to me. Alone away from the other people until I figured out what it was.

Today something feels different. The power I feel here is still around but there is a new power in the land. One that is dark and so cold that it burns. I feel danger and can hear the earth call out for help. I hear her voice now she tells me it is time. I start to see something new and follow the symbols feeling a power that is new and strong. As I finish the summon with a final way of my hand leaves fall from the trees like rain drops. Yet they don’t hit the ground instead they start to form a shape. It was a woman that looked still like a tree. She was wrapped in simple looking clothes. She hovered above the ground. She looked at me with a stare that could see deep into my soul.

“So young yet the fire is strong in you. It will need to be strong for what is coming. You felt it correct?”

“Yes I can still sense that dark power.”

“The Blight has returned to this land and many battles are to come. Some will be with men others with demons. It will take many forms and in each battle I will be there to support you.”

“Who are you?”

“Why Lyanna I am the power of the earth the very Spirit of the Forest and I have been watching for a long time. Yet now we must head to face the evil that would break these lands.”

That was a few days ago. I have headed towards the first reports of the Blight and will reach them soon. But I won’t be alone no I have have gathered my friends. Hired a few new ones. They will understand soon that he power of the Earth will stand up to any that would try and destroy her.
