There's an awesome new game on this blockchain - @steemmonsters! I was excited about this launch from day 1, and here's why:

First reason for me personally: this will generate huge levels of activity on our beloved blockchain! As quoted from @aggroed's anouncement post:

As your monsters fight you'll win some combination of steem, sbd, new packs, cards, unique items, xp boosts, SMTs, and monster upvotes. You'll trade the cards you have and level for Steem and SBD.

That's a lot of activity! But not only that, it's part of the reason why @steemmonsters was created:

This game is about keeping people coming back to the Steem ecosystem and growing our daily active user base. I think as we grow our ability to engage and reward users will be the highest out of all of these games as we're specifically designing the game to do this. My goal is to be the most actively used app on the Steem blockchain and to drive new users and bolster user retention.

@aggroed hints at a Kickstarter Campaign to get non-Steemians to play @steemmonsters! When I read that my excitement only got bigger! I know how many people love to play card games, and they are often successful and easily funded on Kickstarter. Plus: people get hooked easily on collectables, which is why I immediately understood a Kickstarter campaign is the best step for both @steemmonsters and the Steem blockchain in general.

Getting outsiders in via a game is simply smart. They might never have onboarded Steemit or any of the other apps, but they will get active on the blockchain through something they love and understand: an awesome card game.

Yes, I'm truly excited, so it was not hard for me to write this post for @cryptoeater's contest where he gives away some packs!
