And we're under 80k packs...
So, when alpha ended we sold 26k in one day and 56k in 3 (or something close to that). I'm not sure how many days we have left, but it's not many. I'm feeling pretty certain we sell out in September, though early Oct is a possibility too.
Not everyone wants to play the game, so I just want to mention a few things:
- Packs purchased a year ago for alpha at $1.70-$2.00 are trading between $5-9 on Steem Engine.
- The collective value of Alpha cards we sold are themselves are trading up about 50% compared to what we sold them.
- We're seeing daily market activity of $3-5k a day player to player, so there's enough liquidity here to move or swap out a bunch of cards.
- peakmonsters.com let's you rent cards. For the cards I have rented most of them are at a monthly return of 5%.
- Herons Unlimited is a program managed by @tcpolymath which allows you to rent whole decks of cards to other players. @nealmcspadden is the expert here, and he's been showing annual returns of 32%, which is about 1.5x better than the credit card companies do jacking us.
- Splinterlands has dolled out $56k in prize money for tournaments. I don't have a number handy for how much dec players have earned or how many rewards cards they've gained and what that value is, but it's a lot of money!
So, it's impossible to share what's right to do for you or your family regarding your finances, but I think there's lots of opportunity to play, earn, and have fun. What you don't have is a lot of time. If you're looking to own these cards without having to buy them on the market I think you better decide between now and the end of September.
To the folks buying cards, thank you for your support, we're trying to make sure that the cards pack as much value as possible. To the renters playing and helping us achieve All Time High numbers of games, we are stoked to have you here and thanks for playing our game. To the cottage industry growing around this game like Peakmonsters and Herons thanks for being a part of this journey with us.

i went in on the fomo as well and bought 100 packs...lets see what happens
Yesterday I was looking at the shop and I remember the beta packs still left is 88k ang now It's 78k, 10k beta packs sold in just less than a day.. wow I think 78k beta packs can be sold out this september... can't wait for the untamed cards haha
You've hit another milestone and I cannot just keep on wondering what is to follow. I still need to grow my Beta packs so hopefully I still have time to do it, before moving to other monsters.
Nevertheless, great run with the Alpha cards and now with the Beta. I still feel that there should be some continuity to it, maybe another deck with more cards and a reverse ratio that you could upgrade from this to Beta and extend the number of cards. Just think about it...
