# 598 - Haydn
Today I will continue showing a small series of Austrian coins commemorating several composers.
They are circulating commemoratives and this shows on the coins. They are not pristine, as my modern commemoratives, but my musical side rejoices on seeing them.
The third is a 1932 2 Schilling commemorating the 200th Anniversary of Birth of Josef Haydn.
It weights 12g with 64% silver purity. Its mintage was 300,000 units.
Franz Josef Haydn (1732-1809) was an Austrian composer, the first name in the Viennese classicism, followed by Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert.
He was one of the most important figures on the development of the classic style in music, during the XVIII century.
His great contribution was helping to stablish the shapes of the string quartets and the symphonies.
He was a friend and mentor of Mozart and a tutor of Beethoven.
The reverse of the coin shows a profile of Haydn.
The obverse shows the Austrian national arms.

My collection is lacking in the Austrian Silver..... I think I need to go to the LCS...Lol! 👍🤗
The Philharmonics are very easy to find (pure bullion), but there are 5, 10 and 20 Euros modern commemorative coins that have 92.5% silver purity and are very beautiful.
I’ll tell the Mrs we need to make a trip down to the LCS!🤗
Are these rounds thinner in thickness and larger,like the Gold Philharmonics?

The silver Philharmonics weights 1oz, have a diameter of 37mm and the thickness of 3.2mm. 99.9%
The 5 Euros weight 8.41g, have a diameter of 28.5mm and are 1.95mm thick. 92.5%
The 10 Euros: 16.82g, d=32mm, th=2.5mm. 92.5%
The 20 Euros: 22.42g, d=34mm, t=2.93mm. 92.5%

I had to go check the Gold Philharmonic. and it is the same at a diameter of 37 mm.
This gives the coin a larger than only 1 Oz look and feel!

A 1932 circulated coin, and it is beautiful!!! Mexico Libertad has a similar reverse as this coin... several coat of arms. I like this one! So very nice!
