How To Not Earn Steem - What no one will tell you!

Hello reader, every now and then we come across blogs that tell us how to do stuff, ever so seldomly do we get the ones that tell us how to not do stuff, for example, have you ever seen a website claiming to tell people how to not earn bitcoin online? But I'm sure you've seen otherwise. You might think people don't need such information, but you'd actually be amazed about what people need.

Anyway, telling people how not to do stuff might not be so relevant, but on Steem, I feel it is, and I will tell you why.

I'm a huge fan of computers, the fact that they work based on what they're programmed to do gives me joy. Before computers came, when humans handled the assignments now solely dedicated to and operated by computers, there were countless errors made, we call such errors human error - error due to parallax or omission etc, there were also deliberate manipulations.

A lot of the errors were permittable, while others were costly, not to talk of the time it took for humans to accomplish those assignments.

A lot of dealings with humans have to do with blind trust and hope that the person will perform or carry out their assignments appropriately, accurately and/or timely. It's different with computers, if the performance of a system is not up to par, check the code, add more lines or take away, debug and re-run, till it does what you want it to do, maybe not this easily, but you get the drift.

This doesn't make the world of computer perfect, but it stands a better chance at being so.

Just a few days ago, I read an article highlighting the rampant takeover of domestic chores by robots. It is interesting to note that a lot of the Scientific fictional entertaining fantasies we watched on TV as kids years ago are coming to live now.

On October 28, Beijing’s first fully automated kitchen with robot chefs and waiters will open to the public. Haidilao International Holding Ltd. owns a hot pot restaurant chain and recently partnered with Panasonic Corp. to create the automated eatery.

Are these systems perfect? No, but they are faster, more cost effective, perform more accurately, are trustless, you can name it, and most of all, not stubborn or lazy or as some people will say, temperamental. Sometimes I ask myself, why did God make humans when he could have made computers?

My verdict is that a perfect world will be boring.

A huge part of me feels that perfection as a state is only an illusion. Can you objectively tell me one thing that is perfect in this world?

Over the past week, the Alexa ratings on Steemit drastically reduced, and rate of activities dropped, meaning a lot of content creators have stopped being active, and based on popular opinion, it is because of the recent changes in the reward distribution system.

As innovative as the Steem technology is, it has its very imperfect sides, one of which is in the distribution. The way Steem distribution is set up relies a lot on stakeholders to reward good content, whether you're making content from Scot tribes or communities, a stakeholder still has to find your content worthy of reward.

This alone can be frustrating when the stakeholders don't perform their "duties" optimally. It subjects content creators to hope to being rewarded based on the quality of their content, what's more frustrating is seeing few words and an unsourced picture in a post being rewarded.

This is a flaw that can't be fixed by any hardfork, yes over rewarded posts can be downvoted but that doesn't automatically distribute the rewards to creators who spent time and effort in making their contents, hence, less motivated content creators leading to a lesser active blockchain, understanding the fact that most activities come from the content creators.

A perfect situation in this case will be to commit curation to artificial intelligence, a bot programmed to curate posts under a set of rules and algorithms. It will have to be open source and decentralized, which will lead to its downfall because anyone can look into the codes and program a content creating bot that will satisfy those algorithms and still lack the required attributes of an original content.

A lot of users are waiting for a perfect Steem technology, sorry to burst that bubble but a lot of those people will be disappointed. Before Steem might have a chance at being perfect, it will take few light years of continuous development and evolution. To be honest, even the rate of my activities dropped over the week, but not because I'm waiting for a perfect Steem.

Or better put, the rate of my posting dropped because I've been out there commenting on other people's post and trying to hold meaningful conversations. It goes beyond "hello, nice post", it has more to do with sharing common interests, however, when and if this will suffice for my earnings on my content, I don't know, but it is surely a good way of putting myself out there.

I love Steem no doubt, anyone who doesn't know that must be living under a rock, when users say they are angry and leaving steem, I wonder where they're going to, oh another imperfect blockchain or content hosting platform? Na, can't be me.

Steem is a gem, though imperfect, but maybe poised to be. As steem grows in both age and development, a lot of users will grow with it, both in influence and stakes, we already see this happening.

Also because I've been able to rid myself of the delusion of perfection, I've also been able to realise that irrespective of the imperfect state of the Steem economy, the blockchain keeps running, developments keep happening, distribution keeps flowing(albeit imperfectly), other users keep posting, some stakeholders keep powering up and some users are leaving.

The funny thing is that this will likely be the cycle going forward, because even if and after Steem survives this dip and finds itself in a double digit, a time for a dip will appear again, with as much drama as there is presently or even worse, due to technological changes or just market factors or pretty much anything.

Don't forget that people will come in at all points of the currencies increase. Say Steem moons at 20$, some people will buy in at that 20$ lol, hoping it will go to 30$. When the dip eventually takes hits again, a lot of people will be angry again, some believers will hodl, others will dump, most of all, experience will distinguish a lot.

So the question then is, do you want to stand outside while expecting a perfect economy? Be my guest, other users are inside the blockchain expanding their space stakes. I love computers but I'm not delusional about perfection. As the devs go on building the blockchain, I will keep building an audience and my content. Will I ever hit it? Maybe, maybe not, but I will keep trying.

How to not earn steem? Halt your activities on Steem and wait till the blockchain is perfect, its never been so simple.

Thank you for reading.

Wow! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
You getvclaps for this one.
Your right on target. Imperfect humans, imperfect creations, imperfect rewards, welcome to an imperfect world. We should do here what we do in life, shrug, put your shoulder down and keep grinding away posts.
String work 💪

"Anyway, telling people how not to do stuff might not be so relevant, but on Steem, I feel it is, and I will tell you why."

I occasionally have to "train" people at work (despite being basically brand new, myself) and I find that telling people how not to do things saves me a lot of headaches. lol

"I will keep building an audience and my content. Will I ever hit it? Maybe, maybe not, but I will keep trying."

I think that is all we really can do. This place is flawed to be sure but I have found more success here (limited though it may be) than on any other platform. If things work out, this was well worth my time and if they don't, at least I gave it a shot here.

It worrrrks lool

I'm so glad you could relate,...the system is claimed to not have an intuitive interface, I beg to differ, this is still the best yet.

Im glad to be giving it all a shot.

Thank you for your comment. Cheers

Only 90% steemcoholic? I’m aiming for 100%, no watering down this drink!

Haha I guess we are going to be high on steem. Steemtoxicate

And it’s cheaper than cocaine, yay!
