Steemleo: My Introduce yourself as an Investor Post.

in #steemleo5 years ago

I was delighted to hear from @abh12345 about the new steemleo project that has launched this week. It will be keen to use it and see what other active Steemians are writing about as regards investments on the platform. I have always dappled in investing in the past. It first started in college while doing a finance degree. I invested in a little know airline called Ryanair. It was not much but the returns were quite high year on year and I still hold a stake in the company for sentimental purposes . I also love the CEO of that company which he runs like clockwork . I then started dabbling in currency trading and had some success with trading the news. I learned all about technical analysis but environmental factors determine these peaks and troughs so the Economist in me preferred to be up-to-date on the current political climate rather than knowing the ins and outs of Elliot wave. You can know all the TA in the world , when the crypto crash happened the TA experts suffered as much as everyone else. My biggest wins were when Switzerland unpegged it's currency from the euro around 3 years ago , the Brexit vote had me up all night short selling the pound and Mario Dragos quantitive easing had me short selling my own currency against the dollar. I just find it really interesting so I think I will love steemleo.
As regards stocks I haven't been as successful in later years investing in Snap (because I use it ) and other projects that didn't really take off. My portfolio was increasing by 4% year on year but when I seen what was going on in crypto I knew that this was my cup of tea.
My biggest tip for any potential crypto investor is the old saying .

I never did this before until I came to crypto. I could not believe the hype with some coins . People were making announcements after announcements. My first big win was from DGB. I bought the rumour of this big announcement . It took off . I couldn't believe the % increase . It was 3 figures. I got out the day before the announcement . I actually can't remember the announcement but it wasn't that big after all and the coin plummeted. The same thing happened with Komodo , Golum , Ripple , KMD and recently Verge with pornhub . It was just ridiculous. Some of these announcements I was watching on a live feed and they were amateur at best. I was hitting the sell button when I saw the state of the presentations . All these decisions based on news. Try it . I've yet to see a coin rise after its announcement unless it is one that see itself on binance or coinbase.

My biggest mistake I mentioned quite a bit on Steemit before. I am still licking my wounds. Kucoin was 50 cent. I purchased 10000 from the profit I made in Iota and Lisk. It increased to 65 cent. The market trader in me saw a big profit and I sold. 2 weeks later Kucoin shot up to 14 euro per share. I'm still a bit sick after that one but we win some and we lose some. I still trade . I love it . I have bots doing the TA for me while I research the next big increase. I look forward to posting on SteemLeo and seeing how the platform gets on . I think everyone will agree that Twitter has served its purpose and Investors are looking for a platform to fulfill their needs .
So what's next for me . My money is on Ardor but this isn't financial advice 😉

Nice work regarding Ryanair, they have done very well since starting out.

Best get following you for the news then - what ticker/sites do you use to keep up with crypto rumors/news that potentially lead to pumps/dumps?

Cheers!

The first exchange I opened a crypto account was Poloniex . It has a little chatroom in its mobile app and I got more info from the guys there than any Twitter crypto god. From there I downloaded a run of the mill crypto events calendar and monitored the coins homepages to see if were having a "big announcement " . I'd buy a couple of weeks before and sell the day before because there are always leaks . Not big into TA unless bitcoin is ranging so I'd just use my bot app 3 commav or an exchange like binance or Bittrex to monitor the coin

Very cool. It sounds like steemleo could be right up your street. Looking forward to more insight in some posts this year - bring on the bull (and rumors :) )

Youre quite an investor! Well, i am not much of that but i do look forward to atleast being "little" of it soon. Baby steps, yeah? You seem to have started investing at quite early age...

Hard luck on Kucoin... But like you said, "we lose some and we win some". I look forward to learning more about investments from you...

And we got with your airline, hihihi. I bought some Ajax stock way back when they were having a bad season, now that little bit is a nice “football in my park “ sometimes you need a gamble and dream big for those stock in the long run. Think that with steem too. But that fork I don’t know !
