1 Corinthians 15:3 New International Version (NIV)

3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

Romans 3:23-25 New International Version (NIV)

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[a] through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—

During Holy Week, everyone of us remembers the death of Jesus but the question is,

"Why the Death of Jesus is Important?"

Here are some points we need to know about the death of Jesus and why is it important.

1. It is of first or fundamental importance in the gospel of Christ and of Apostolic preaching according to the word of God in 1 Corinthians 15:3.

1 Corinthians 15:3 New International Version (NIV)

3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

2. The Death of Jesus is A Sacrifice of Humanity's Sin. All of us have sinned against God but in order for us to forgive all our sins, Jesus sacrifice His life for all of us because of His great love.

Romans 5:8 New International Version (NIV)

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

3. The Death of Jesus Christ saved soul. Because all of us sinned against God and fall short from the glory of God, He give His only Son Jesus Christ for us to be saved as said in Romans 3:23 and John 3:16. He really loved us that He wants us to be back to Him.

Romans 3:23 New International Version (NIV)

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

John 3:16 New International Version (NIV)

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
