Steemit Photo Challenge #21 - Reflections - Tajikistan (1,2)
Fellow Steemian Brothers and Sisters!
I noticed the beautiful photos you are submitting so I thought I'd join with my pictures from Tajikistan, a place that touched my heart deeply. I traveled Tajikistan on my second world trip when I was still young and bold (ha, maybe I still am) and I camped out in places with no roads, no tourists, nothing but mountains and lakes.
Entry 1:
With my traveling buddy Ra we stuffed our huge backpacks with supplies and hitched a ride from Khodor up to some remote place upstream (can't even remember the name). We crossed a really scary looking wild river in a very scary looking flimsy wood cabin which was hanging on a single rope and which was hand powered by pulley system , to bring us to the opposite side.
Entry 2:
After 2 hours hike up on a curvy path we found a village where around 100 people lived. They welcomed us to their home like brothers, and we soon found out that all these people had golden heart- they lived like a family, they were super humble and generous and they were all happy- without cars or money, living in their hidden paradise. They never asked us for anything but they offered us food, tea (and real tobacco leave that kept me high for many months :) That experience left a warm memory in my heart to this very day. People are intrinsically good, everywhere in the world, they just get screwed up by the society way too often...
Bread making:
Our dinner. You can spot the eggshells in fire :)
One day I will go back and spend more time, meditating by that lake up in Tajik mountains!
Peace! <3
