Multiplying with Multiples of 10, 100 or 1000

Can you multiply quickly 40 by 60 very quickly without using a calculator?

I did it in one moment 2400!

What did I do to find the multiplication so quickly?

Well, both 40 and 60 are multiples of 10 and there is a special way to find such multiplications.

Just multiply the non zero numbers and include the same number of zeros with your answer.

So, to multiply 40 by 60, I just found 4 x 6 which is 24 and included two zeros (one from each 40 and 60) to get 2400 as my answer.

Easy! isn't it?
