Superstition? Good luck....Bad luck?
In Japan black cats are considered lucky!
My Aunt Fran thought otherwise!
We were travelling in the car to the movies one afternoon and out of nowhere a black streak flew like a lightning bolt across the road. The mere fact that we didn't hit the cat should have been a clue that it was lucky.
But not Aunt Fran!
She told her husband, my poor uncle driving , to turn around at once and take a different route.Foolishly and uselessly he mentioned that we would be late for the movie.
"What do I care if we miss some of the movie? Lives could be at stake here. I'm warning you Cyril, GO BACK!" The high pitch of her voice combined with the thunderous expression on her face, convinced him.
He swung that steering wheel, hard.
The tyres screeched as he did that U turn. Of course we missed the opening of that movie and I never did understand the gist of that story but apparently we were saved a fate worse than death. I still have the whiplash to prove that according to Aunt Fran

Yep, that's what they say around here, too. But I don't really believe any of that. :-P
PS: I've found your post after @cicisaja featured you in her entry for the Pay It Forward Contest
well.. I don't believe that at all though in madura Island, East Java, people believe that Black cat is a powerfull cat while male three colours cat would bring prosperity, and at the other place, Black Cat related to black magic too. so.. Black cat mean Bad Luck?"if you believe on bad luck.. than driving in black car also a bad luck then.. LOL.

I love black cats! I've even heard that in some parts of England, it's the white cat which is dreaded! But I love my white ones too...
