Bimble Bee Flys Another Day!

Emma-Jane lived in the countryside, in a small house on a farm with animals, trees and flowers all around her. She lived with her Mummy who was a teacher and her Daddy who was a tractor driver. Emma-Jane was very kind and was always making new friends with the animals in her garden and on the farm.

It was a warm sunny morning and Emma-Jane was in the kitchen with her Mummy. “Mummy my finger still hurts” she said, Emma-Jane was stung by a bee the day before, and she showed her Mummy the finger that had been stung.

“It will get better soon” Said her Mummy and she bent down and kissed the finger better and Emma-Jane skipped away to play in the garden. “The bee only stung you because he was scared of you”

In the bee-hive at the bottom of the garden the bees were getting ready to go and get Pollen from the flowers nearby. It was the first day of honey making for a young bee called Bimble who had just got his yellow and black flying stripes. Standing by his daddy he was excited and looking forward to seeing all the pretty flowers his daddy had told him about.

“We need to be careful and quick today, Bimble” his daddy said to him “The queen bee says it is going to rain and you know what happens when it rains don’t you?”

“We can’t fly” Bimble answered “the rain makes us wet and we get heavy and can’t fly”

“Correct” smiled his Daddy “now stick close to me and we will be off”

Inside the hive the bees waited until the sun shone through the hole and into the honey chamber. The bees stood testing their wings, stretching their legs and some made sure that their stings were working properly.

Bimble stood close to his dad and the buzzing of the swarm got louder as the sun got closer to shining through the hole. And then in an instant the sunlight filled the hive and the bees were off.

“Stay with the swarm and close to me” called Bimble’s dad over the loud buzzing as they lifted off the ground and followed the swarm of bees out of the hive and into the warm sunny garden outside.

Bimble was amazed, the sun was brighter and warmer than anything he had ever seen or felt before, the sky was a deep blue and the ground below was bright green. His eyes were wide open and he followed his dad and the swarm high into the sky.

“Why are we going so high?” Bimble asked

“So the spotter bees can see the best flowers down below” his Daddy answered “there are not as many flowers as there used to be so finding them is not easy”

Bimble looked around and saw that the flowers and blossoms in the gardens below could be seen clearly and some were brighter than others “we want the brightest and sweetest smelling flowers, look down and see” Bimble was amazed at the colours below him.

The swarm hovered around and then one of the spotter bees called back “swarm dive!” And in an instant the swarm dived down fast towards some pretty yellow and red flowers in the garden below.

Bimble screamed with happiness “weeeeeee” he cried as the swarm swooped towards the ground.

As he got lower Bimble could see the flowers in the garden clearly, roses, chrysanthemums and fuchsias, he knew all the names from honey making school and out here the flowers looked so pretty and so much brighter than in the books in the classroom. Bimble’s eyes opened wide and he soon forgot what his daddy had told him and eventually found himself alone and not with the swarm or his daddy.

At first he was fascinated by all the flowers, going up to them one by one and tasting their sweetness but soon he noticed he was not with the swarm.

Bimble was lost and alone.

Bimble started to cry, he was scared because he was alone and he was also scared because the blue sky was turning grey. He looked up and looked around but couldn’t see the swarm or his daddy anywhere, he started to cry.

Flying this way and that looking for his daddy he wasn’t paying attention to where he was going. Bimble saw a garden full of pretty flowers through a hole in a fence and there by the flowers was his swarm. He flew fast towards to the swarm wanting to get to his daddy quickly, he flew and flew and then bump!

Bimble missed the hole and hit his head on the fence, the hole was smaller than he thought. He tumbled to the ground and crunch! He felt his wing crumble underneath him as he hit the ground with another bump.

Bimble was dazed and he sat and cried and called for help as the sky began to get darker and the sun disappeared behind the clouds.

He was afraid he would never be found and never see his Daddy again. As he sat he prayed and Bimble asked for someone to come and rescue him as his tears dropped on the floor beneath him.

Happy Easter to you

I hope your baby enjoyed the whole story of Bimble Bee.

What a fun story. I loved your images as well as the plot. I will definitely look for the next part.

A little combining of photos from Pixabay. It was fun to do.

You write really well! I've actually been thinking of starting to write my own stories in english, but i should first read some books in english since it's not my main language...

BTW i love bees, if my investments ever amount to anything, having a farm is something at the top in the list of my priorities, and right next to having a farm is start beekeeping! I love to see a green garden with bees all over the place! Unfortunately, we have seen the bee population decreasing almost every year... mainly because of parasites

I've always loved to write. You should give it a go, your 'addiction' blog post shows me you could manage it without too much effort.

The decreasing bee population is one of reasons that I wrote this parrticular story, as one saved could make all the difference and not to be afraid of him. Unfortunately that part hasn't worked on my elder daughter yet, as she will run a mile every time she sees one.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I can't wait till tomorrow! Why such suspense??
LoL! A very interesting story you got there, really can't wait to see what happened to the baby bee. Did he find his clan? Did he make friends with Emma-jane? Did he sting her? I really wonder.
It was nice reading animal's stories. Felt like a baby again.
I'm so much anticipating the continuation tomorrow.

All your questions would have been answered now in the next part.

Sure it has been answered
