Discovering Knowledge Yourself
Good scholars know that when you discover information for yourself, you can grasp something else others might overlook. That's why some people can give more productive inputs and be a step ahead of the rest.
When some teachers find students who are used to see things differently in order to figure out beyond the basics, they feel engaged to challenge them. But not to prove what they know rather because they want to see what students are capable of. This action creates a fertile atmosphere where the whole class prospers; and in turn, it elevates the learning skills.
To see what any student comes up with also works as a catalyst that could inspire other students to do the same. Teachers also get caught up in the wave, and they don't have to impose rules because students will dictate their own path. The route would be fixed by the new knowledge obtained.
Everyone can learn how to teach themselves. The first thing that is required is desire. By harboring that feeling, then any student just needs to observe how things manifest around him. He can use the knowledge that may has been previously acquired as a stimulus to look for more.
And the benefits are incredible. Students become self-aware of their potential. They also discover hobbies and passions. They find a purpose, set goals and pursue them.
This is one of the main benefits of discovering knowledge. Some educational institutions can hold students back because of the rules found in the educational systems. Such rules create a series of actions based on a kind of programing that molds students, and produces a certain behavior that follows established patterns.
On the other hand, a student that willingly immerses in the search for enlightenment out of reach of the educational arm, his brain can absorb without barriers. And we can prove it when we see kids playing outside in the open, interacting with the surrounding and the mother nature.
They look alive, and full of energy because they let their imagination come up with some creations that sometimes surprise us. It is there when self-learning looms.
Similarly, it also occurs with youngsters in this technological area. There are so much information available through different means (internet being the most used). And the only thing that students need is guidance to select the correct and valuable information.
A new vision
When you are on your own, your vision is wide. You acquire a broad point of view where everything that comes through your senses in considered with the same regard.
This brings up some consequences. To name a few, we have:
Information can be presented to you as it is. There's no spectrum that alters its manifestation.
You feel more determined and more open to adopt new ideas.
Your level of engagement is high.
You can identify gaps and mistakes.
The conclusion you make are based on facts, and not on outdated premises.
Students learn to be more independent
Once students found insights by their own, they get used to it. This makes them partake in activities. And there wouldn't be too much resistance when teachers engage them them later in class.
Confidence is also reinforced because students are aware of their capabilities. They feel that knowledge runs through their veins, and that they count with the necessary wisdom to debate and stand to their convictions.
It is incredible to witness how self-learning can lead students. They become proactive, never waiting to be told to do something. They inspect and reason; process information to produce results, which can eventually grow them into creators.
The thirst for learning is never satisfied
As a side effect, students comprehend the importance of constant learning. We never learn enough. That has always been the mayor principle of the great men and women that have laid the foundation of societies, and have striven to take them to higher levels.
There are so much knowledge, which is awaiting to be discovered. And most importantly, there's also a great variety of means we can make use of to get it. What is need is a little of freedom. That's all. To allow students to explore, to find their own way.
Much of the significance advances have begun from a spark based on initiatives. And the people behind have had one thing in common. And that is the wish to learn something new each day in every place through any means.
They haven't limited themselves to the educational system. They've gone out and tried to find knowledge. And with a little courage and initiative we can accomplish great things by our own.

Thanks for your sharing. When I was young, I seldom appreciate what teachers had taught us. But when challenges and tests come, I realize that I am insufficient.
Most of time, and depending on the school your teach, sometimes it ends up being more productive to study on our own. Discovering knowledge ourselves can give us a deeper understanding because it happens so natural that not a thing stays in the way, which could alter true knowledge.

It is an intriguing event when Teacher and pupils both work together for the same goal of acquiring knowledge.
i see how self learning can help a person to grow more, as you suggested. i think i will try stay student my whole life now. XD

Your right, @clik. The line between the teacher and the student is so wide that seems almost impossible to channel all their energy toward the same goals.
This separation makes them both fall in the monotonous education that doesn't generate real progress. That's why the great minds have always crossed that boundary. Their ideas which have changed the world were always initiatives gathered from their sole interaction with the surrounding.
