Keeping in touch with our inner child

The time of childhood is for many people, something that is closely related to purity, innocence, enthusiasm and joy: sure that all of us would like to be able to return to that moment that belongs to our past and which is full of laughs and a lot of love, that time in which almost in all cases our main headache was to know how sweet our mother had prepared our food.

But ... Have you ever wondered if that inner child has completely disappeared from within us?

Quite possibly our desire to improve ourselves, to find happiness and the fact of savoring the small details of life, is simply the call of that inner child that I think we should pay more attention to.

Our inner child help us remain strong in our adulthood

When we reach the stage of adulthood, we not only appreciate in our face the reflection of the lived years translated into wrinkles, we also appreciate changes in our attitude. The moment we lose our curiosity about the world, we are no longer children. Maybe for that reason, we all wish with all our strength to return to those times every time we face the face of a child smiling, that child has no worries, and has no worries because this child has not yet acquired the sense of the responsibility typical of adulthood.

Childhood is probably the time when we are more creative, everything runs through our imagination

One of the things that the future constantly demands of us has to do with being adults and always turning our eyes towards the future and towards our goals: that everything we do today will be fruitful tomorrow. We could say that being an adult is closely related to the acquisition of bigger responsibilities and the care of the people around us.

Although we should not forget about the importance of that inner child, that child who awakens creativity in us, constantly urges us to be young and invites us to believe in life and to be excited about new experiences and knowledge.

How long have you been thinking about whether you are really happy?

Surely if you were lucky enough to read the book of The Little Prince, this will give you one of the lessons with a symbolic value about how we adults are. Human beings that have progressively been forgetting themselves. Thanks to stories like these, we realize that absolutely all of us have in our interior that little child or mini me who drives us to enjoy the little things in life. .

For a child, even something as simply as going to a park is seen as a crazy adventure

And the thing that really matters to be happy are usually things that cannot be seen. For this reason I think people say that we close our eyes when we kiss, dream and sleep

If we can be more tolerant with that part of our interior that constantly asks us to get away from all the negative things that the adult world entails, we will be able to realize that sometimes what really makes us fully happy is quite far away the typical things we do in our daily life adults.

Lets accept and embrace our inner mini me

Maybe the stage of adulthood is nothing more than a change of perspective, since we went from being surprised by what surrounds us to being scared when something does not turn out as we expected.
It is not bad to let our most childish side emerge at times. This does not have anything to do about getting rid of our adult side but to achieve a positive balance between both parts.

Perhaps the excitement children feel when exploring new places is the same we would feel if we could explore the space freely

This can help us to take care of our life while also enjoying the wonderful and extraordinary things that this contains. Living and interacting with the world with the eyes of an adult is absolutely necessary, but the fact of allowing us to appreciate our world with the eyes of a child is really wonderful. We could say it is the best of both worlds.

Let us be more reasonable than we have been until now: let's pay more attention to that mini me that we all have inside because it has many lessons that need to be taught and that in turn will be very useful to lead us to happiness. Let's try not to lose our curiosity about the world, the desire to enjoy the little things in life.

Conclusion

As adults I think we should not lose contact with the child we will always have inside us. It will be easier know what are the things we truly want, and we will find more joy on everything new we encounter, any new experience, place or food will be more exciting this way.

Nevertheless, its also important to not forget the fact we need to be the ones who makes things happens in our life, and take care of everyone of our responsibilities as proper adults, only this way we can progress in life and be happy with ourselves.

I always say finding a balance in everything is important, and the same applies here. It is possible to keep in touch with our inner child while still being a good and responsible adult, one thing does not exclude the other.

Have you lost contact with your inner child?

If so, what are you planning to do about it?

...and as always - what does our inner child need the most? Love! ❤️
Thanks for sharing!

Simple but truth nonetheless

At the end of the day I guess it's all in our hands to keep that inner child alive and kicking and cherish all the little things that come in our way.
Indeed a very thoughtful and meaningful post :)

Thanks for the support!

Yeah, I feel like our culture sometimes tries to force us to forget our inner kid, we put so much emphasis on success and money that it can become easy to leave our innocence and sense of wonder behind.

I've found learning to be vulnerable enough to be true to myself has really helped me personally. One other thing that is great has been great is healing my body, I was pretty bogged down from years of sitting at computers and desks and working through some of that tension has given my body the freedom to better express. There are still days when I feel like a kid and I'm almost 30.

Nice reminder :)

Good for you for noticing it. It’s never too late to realize our past mistakes and to fix them.

Cheers bro!
