THE 3 P'S
Why children should be taught endurance. I call it the three P’s, Patience, Practice and Perseverance.
It is 3 of the most important things we can teach our children. When they are grownups this will make life a lot easier as we all know it is much nicer to be a child than a grownup.
That is if we give them the opportunity to be children. I cannot express how important childhood is, as this is the time we form them for the future. Children grow up so fast it is unbelievable.
But they must really learn how to be patient. Some kids believe if they don’t succeed the first time they walk away and just leave it.
Now this is when you must help this child and explain that we sometimes have to practise something for a while so that we can succeed. Patience from your side is very important here, because kids learn by examples.
Whatever they are struggling with help them to slowly overcome by practising with them. Maybe it is riding a bike or teaching them how to swim.
When the child succeeds he has persevered. Explain to them that this can be with athletics, reading book, as well as homework and many other school activities. Those are the 3 P’s. If you have a very intelligent child it does not mean that he will have these automatically it is still something you have to teach the child. It might just go a little faster. Not that those children who are a little slower are unintelligent it might even be the way you teach that make it slower to understand. It is also not wrong to motivate a child with a Ice cream or something they love just for the succes when they have acomplished what they set out to do.
Remember we all learn as time goes by, there is no book that teach us on how to bring up children the right way. It is something we learn with practise, patience and perseverance.
Thank you I love getting this just like a child.
Very interesting post.. thanks for sharing..
Nice post. Persevering is very important.
Great advice, especially for parents with young children like me.
It's like you said in your reply on my post and up here, there is no book to teach us and we can only hope and pray that we do it the right way. Everyone differs with their methods of parenting, but the 3 P's is an excellent guidance.
Thank you bdmouse you are very kind I don't know I seem to miss your posts love them.
Oh yes I 100% agree with this. I am forever telling my children about practising... that they can do anything they want, all it takes is practice. As my children have grown (they're still pretty young), I have been more and more amazed at how little our schools do to truly prepare children for the real world.
A big bugbear of mine, Big Bear (heehee) is that children don't get taught about money. And they don't get taught how to think. Sounds ridiculous, but a lot of people grow into adulthood without understanding how their minds work - about the conscious and subconscious mind, and about choosing what to think as opposed to assuming the thoughts you have are yours. Everyone gets programmed from a young age... not necessarily in a bad way, but just because we learn from those around us and we take on traits that actually belong to others.
Anyway, great post! Followed. :)
Thank you so much johleen if you like I did a post about money a little while ago, if you feel like taking a look it is about how to make a magic moneybox. Thanks following you as well.
Oh that sounds great, will check it out! I love both money and magic, so I'm sure it's right up my street ha! Cheers. :)

Hi @bigbear! I love the subject of your post! I think it is great because you are right, teaching the three P’s, Patience, Practice and Perseverance are so important. These skills will really help the child survive in today's times. As always you wrote a very thoughtful and important article. Great job!!!
I hope all is well with you. Today, Lady will be starting her oral chemotherapy. Hopefully it will go well. According to her vet doctor, most dogs tolerate it well with no side effects. We will see.
Please take care and have a good day tomorrow!
