SteemitCulinaryChallenge # 4 : Fruit Salad.

The secret to this salad of fruits is in the sauce. The syrup of lime, very easy to prepare, but which gives a rich aroma and a bright refreshing taste.

A combination of fruits in a salad can be any, depending on your tastes and the time of year.

Ingredients - kiwi, banana, pear, lime, 50 ml of water, 50 g sugar

Lime zest rub on a small grater.

Lime juice squeeze.

Dissolve the sugar in hot water.

Bring to a boil and add the grated zest. Stir, add the lime juice and cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.

Meanwhile, prepare the fruit salad. All fruits are peeled and cut.

Filter ready sauce, to get rid of the remnants of peel, and allow to cool.

Fruits mix and spread in a bowl, in which we serve.
Pour cooled down syrup to taste.

The lime syrup "should" keep your fruit salad from oxidizing or turning brown. Is this true?

No, not quite...in Canada, we often spritz or lightly mist fresh cut fruit with lemon juice to keep the fruit from turning brown too quickly after it has been cut. I think your lime syrup is doing the same thing and keeping your salad really looking fresh. :)

Yes exactly. But the syrup is very delicious too. I usually take as much fruit to eat at once.

Yes, exactly. I guess this would work if you were making the salad to serve at a buffet or when it has to be ready a few hours before being consumed.

Yes, there was one last serving of fruit. The color of the fruit is absolutely not changed!
