A Badass In The Darks. (Steemitbloggers Contest)
She stayed in town, hoping to see people come out of their stony houses.
Amazed she still was that the night never gave away. Moon staying still, high in the sky, large and yellow.
The clock tower struck it's loud rings every hour. 9am now. Still not a peep of a bird, no sound of footsteps in the distances.
She decided to roam the streets. Venturing the closed in houses that almost seemed to have shared the same walls. Poking her head before passing every corner. The thought of words that the lady spoke early. She walked from one end of town to the next. No one came out. She walked through the other way back to where she came in, and to the exit at the other side.
She was on her way to leave, nothing was here for her. She took a few steps out of town boundaries, lifted her head, she spotted someone on the top of the hill standing by a lonesome dead tree. Appearing to be a man judging by the figure, she couldn't see his face, too dark of a night and the fog surrounding made things more difficult.
The man just stood there. Unsure if she should shout out to him, fear running the line of her spine.
'If he runs my way, I can just run back to where I came from. The path is clear.'
She took a chance. Whistled with 2 fingers in her mouth to catch the mans attention. She shouted out to him and waved an arm.
He turned his way to her and from the moment of a split second, like if he manipulated the space between them, he was right there in front of her. Shocked, the air stuck in her lungs, the man blew in her face. She choked a bit but breathed again.
'Are you ready?' he said in a most husky, sensual voice.
Stunned for what may happen, not a clue at what could be happening. Before even having the possibility to ask the man what to be ready for, he stepped in her personal space. His tall body against hers, his arm around the small of her back. She could feel his strength trapping her there. She didn't wish to be apart either. The comfort of his body and the veil of darkness, the power he owned made him be what she wanted most. His gaze upon her lips, eyes wide, filled with hunger, the eyes of a hunter, she thought, hunting for her.
He leaned in more, his other hand brushing her hair, caressing the contour of her ears. She thought this may very well be her first kiss. He ran his fingers in her hair once more. As his hand reached the back of her head he firmly grabbed a handful of hair, ripped her head back violently. He licked her neck, whispered in her ear, 'Are you ready?'
Panic took over her mind and body. Unable to move, scared for what may happen next. She screamed at the protruding pain in her neck, like nails being hammered in to pierce her skin. At first her body filled with warmth as she lie motionless in his arms, feeling a hot moisture surrounding his mouth, feeling it drip down to her shoulder. He jerked his mouth away from her neck and bit her again just as fast.
She screamed again, stream of tears escaping her eyes, this time feeling cold and numb. He squeezed her waist tight like if he was squeezing the juice out of her, jerking her body to have every last drop. His kiss was violent, her neck ravishly devoured.
His bite let go, ripping away more skin. Blood pooled in the wounds, his rough tongue licking away at it like a dog. Lifting his head, he looked at her with a smile from ear to ear. She looked at him, her life spilled all over his face.

Without respect to the crimson life taken from her, he let her body drop to the ground. Her head hitting hard, bounced back up and landed with a thud. Another wound to her head, blood leaking from the back of her head and her neck. How could she still be bleeding when it felt like he took everything.
She never thought the night could get any darker. Not even the stars were apparent in a clear sky. No more could life be so forgiving as she lied there, breaths far between. Death was knocking on her door. Pulling at her soul, pain leaving her body.
As though lightening struck her body again and again, a new pain awoke within her body. She screeched in the night, grabbing at the stones beneath her. His poison was tearing at her stomach, at her heart. As she cried and screamed, the pain being unbearable, she was losing vision. Her body now relaxed, her eyes closing, the lady from that morning appeared again.
Black.
The smell of a barn filled with dead animals woke her up abruptly. She scurried up, back against the wall, eyes frantically moving side to side, scanning the area she was in. The hay she was lying on now stuck to her clothing and hair. Panicked once more, she cradled her legs and started to sob.
A moment of silence is what she needed in order to collect herself from the previous events. She remembered the pain, the blood, the man. Then she suddenly realised, she has no pain, she's not dead and yet she was still covered in blood. The smell was just putride.
The sounds of growling and snarling awoke her from her trance. To her left in the corner was a woman, animalistic and filthy. Blood smeared all over her arms and her eyes were not human. Her growls were turning into this monstrous sound coming from deep in her throat and chest. It was a nightmare. The creature reaches out, a smile on her face inching closer to her. She screamed. Her scream making this horror like being scream with a thousand voices, deafening her ears.
Another woman ran in, yelling at the female creature in a foreign language. It backed down into the corner once more. That's when she realized she was in an attic. The siding and roof was torn apart in some places, telling her it was an abandoned home outside the town.
It was the woman from... the day before? Confused at the time and day, she was starting to feel weak and vulnerable more than ever. The woman grabbed her by the shoulders lifting her up. Such strength was unbelievable for a woman.
'Sometimes they turn that way. He bites them and then leaves them there to rot. No food, they starve and start to turn, like zombies. That one there has turned not long ago. Soon it will be my turn.'
She looked at the familiar face. Pale and skinny. Thinking she was pale because of malnutrition.
'Grow some crop. Gather animals, cows, pig, chicken. There will be food to feed the entire village.'
The strange woman laughed. 'We do not eat crop and animals. You will see. Soon your time of hunger will take over and you too will be like her."
She was getting flashbacks of the man, the horror of what he had done to her, yet the one memory that kept coming back was that of when their bodies pressed together.
'Get used to it. You are his now. Your memories are his and his are yours. You will get flustered by his thoughts, become jealous of the other fair girls he plays with. We all do. He turned us all.
He turned us all without any food. Our cattle? The people. When you walked this way, you noticed all those empty homes. They were once filled with people. Those people served as food. He craved the power and the more he drank the more strength he gained. Some of those people live in this town. Not all turned to death. They are the lucky ones.'
Everything was coming together. Why the home were rubble, why some houses were still ok but no signs of life.
'Why not leave?' She asked.
'Because he keeps us here like slaves, we are his kingdom. Without us he has no one to overpower. He would feel too weak.'
Her stomach was feeling like it was starting to cave in.
'You are getting hungry. I have been saving this last bit of blood in my cooler. Take it. Perhaps you can do something about our starvation.'
To be continued....
This is my entry to the 2nd part of the Steemitbloggers contest.
The contest was for us to write about the heros and or villains. Find the first part of my story here. This is how things would be in my perfect world ;)
Very nice follow up to part one. I enjoyed the read very much. Zombie-Vamps, now that is a scary combo to even think about.
Thanks! Yep definitely not the ones to be finding out in the bush haha.
Awesome. I can see why you won. Excellent story.
Thank you :D I actually thought that there was going to be another contest part of how the hero saves the day. I am still wondering about that. I have it mostly all written up. But even if there isn't I still want to post it. I am feeling quite good about what I have been writing. And even though it is fiction I am still keeping that factor of being my little utopia and how I would picture things to happen, keeping in mind that the main character is somewhat me :P I wouldn't feel right leaving the story end with just this ;)
Cool! I hope you do post that next installment. Can't wait to read it.
WOW that was one amazing entry. Creepy and sexy all at once! Bravo!!!
Thanks ^_^ I am really excited to bring you all the next part. It was hard to not finish this one in one sitting :P
I admit... Your title caught my attention. Then as I started to read... OMG! This is really a whole different approach to writing. This is really good... the imagination, the details... I’m hooked... can’t wait for the continuation
Goal accomplished! Woohoo! haha, I am glad you enjoyed it. And I can't wait to write the next part! I already have most of it written but working on the ending.
But then maybe.... would it be too soon to end it? Or would it be a nice little trilogy type story? :p Who knows, see where it goes ;)
😨 😩 🤯 😬 😰 😱 😳
You'll like the next part :p
A very poetic sentence. The imagery you used here is great. Well done.
Thank you. It can be difficult to explain and write the images I have in my mind. Thank you for your compliments for that reason.
Compelling reading, I really didn't expect it to take the path it did but by the end you are left desperate to find out just what does happen next.
#thealliance #witness
Thanks ^_^ I will be posting the next part within the next few days. I am feeling great about the comments I am receiving on this post. Very encouraging to keep going :)
