SteemPlus Classification - Are you Human,Spammer or Bot?
For those using the Steemplus browser extension you may have noticed my classification has for some reason changed from classifying my account from being Human to that of Pending as indicated below.
The purpose of this feature is to classify accounts based on an algorithm that classifies your account into three categories of Human,Spammer or Bot depending on the activity in the account and where it's not sure, the classification is deemed pending.
Those than follow my blog know that I have never posted any spam comments on my posts and all my articles are my own work and as I am definitely not a bot, this pending classification is erroneous.
You can correct this indecision on the part of the algorithm through voting the account as Human, if you are using the Steemplus browser, and your help in doing so will be gratefully appreciated.
@tony19r, Algorithms does have it's shortcomings! However, in this instance I tend to think it's saying you're really efficient... Too efficient to be a human in any event! :)
@rlt47, I hope you are right. That is why human intervention is usually needed to correct what may misinterpreted by algorithms in some instances.
Yes, I'm pretty sure! After all you are one of the good guys...unless you are advanced A.I. - Lol!
Pretty sure I am 100% human despite what A.I. may say.
Hey @tony19r, what a strange thing! I don't use Steemplus, but I hope it gets sorted out for you. When did you notice that?
Hi @lynncoyle1, Surprised me too this morning and now my status is barely back to Human. Very odd behavior.
Hopefully it corrects itself just as quickly!
I hope so to if the system is to be relied upon.
Thats a weird thing . I never used steemplus browser . I have enough problems with steemit . But I would like to something like that on steemit to identify bots .
@wolfhart While algorithms are good at clearly spotting certain behaviors, the do at time come up with false readings and require correction from their human operators.
So, it's been a couple of days. Has your status changed back to human yet? :) If not, have you been in contact with the creator(s) of steemplus?
I imagine it hasn't happened very often, but to be classified as anything but human, regardless of your actions, unless you're actively using some kind of script to do certain activities, should never happen. A bot never signs off or sleeps. It's constantly doing things. It's always there. Humans are not. As efficient as we would like to be, we're just not going to match the efficiency of a well-scripted bot.
I hope it's back to normal, and that if there's a bug in the browser that it is fixed. :)
@glenalbrethsen Though the system has changed my overall classification back to 'Human' it's with a much reduced percentage than before as indicated in the current snap shot below which keeps changing daily.
The Spammer figure of 39.5% this this account is really inaccurate and should warrant further looking into as it is not justified.
Yeah, those kinds of things drive me crazy. They're supposed to be a help, maybe even a verification of identity of sorts, but when they're sending back false readings, based on an algorithm that's supposed to differentiate between human and bot behavior, then it's not worth it. It becomes a hindrance, if not counterproductive. I hope it gets resolved soon.
@glenalbrethsen I hope so too. Meanwhile I'll keep a record to see how the daily progress back to normal or reasonable percentages take.
